Job summary

Johnson Service Group is seeking an RF test technician for the Advanced Products Group in a cleanroom environment. You will perform electrical testing of oscillators, assemblies, and finished products, document results, and troubleshoot failures while supporting engineering staff.

You will operate Spectrum Analyzers, Phase Noise Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, DMMs, Power Meters, and test chambers, ensuring calibration and configuration accuracy. A B.S. in EE is required, with US person status.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Person per EAR Part 772 and ITAR 120.15
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited university
• Basic RF/electrical circuit knowledge and measurements
• Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and drawings
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow requirements
• Collaborates with sales and program management
• Able to manage multiple tasks and priorities

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical testing of Oscillators using approved procedures
• Record, analyze, and document test results per procedures
• Update and improve Test Standard Procedures and forms
• Operate RF and lab test equipment (Spectrum Analyzers, Phase Noise Analyzers, etc.)
• Work with shop coordinator to track orders on production floor
• Configure test setups and verify calibration status
• Verify product configurations against drawings, BOMs, and work instructions
• Identify test failures and support root cause investigations
• Support manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams in investigations
• Follow ESD, quality, and manufacturing procedures; maintain lab cleanliness

Job description

JSG is hiring a talented and driven RF test technician to join our Advanced Products Group department. In this role you will work in a cleanroom environment testing evolving product line. You will be responsible for performing electrical testing of electronic assemblies, subassemblies, and finished products. The technician will execute test procedures, collect and document test data, troubleshoot failures, and assist engineering personnel.

Role & Responsibilities

• Perform electrical testing of Oscillators using approved test procedures
• Record, analyze, and document test results in accordance with test procedures
• Update and improve existing Test Standard Procedures and Forms related to test methodologies
• Operate RF and laboratory test equipment including Spectrum Analyzers, Phase Noise Analyzers, Frequency Counters, Power Meters, Oscilloscopes, Digital Multimeters, Vacuum and Non-Vacuum Test Chambers
• Work with shop coordinator to maintain accurate status of orders on production floor
• Configure test setups and verify equipment calibration status
• Verify product configurations against engineering drawings, schematics, bills of material, and work instructions
• Identify test failures and support troubleshooting efforts to determine root cause
• Support manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams during investigations and corrective actions
• Follow ESD, quality, and manufacturing standard procedures
• Maintain a clean and organized laboratory and work area

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Person as defined by EAR Part 772 and ITAR 120.15
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited university
• Basic electrical circuitry knowledge of RF, electronic circuit theory, and electrical measurements
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow requirements
• Social proficiency in dealing with sales department and program management
