Woojin ISA in Carson, California, is seeking an Electrical Test Technician to execute test procedures on rail vehicle subsystems, generate reports, and troubleshoot issues that arise during testing.

Qualifications

Job description

Objective

To execute test procedures, generate test reports, troubleshoot and fix issues on rail vehicle subsystems.


Responsibilities and Accountabilities


  • Generate reports on all routine tests and testing activities.

  • Troubleshoot issues found during testing to identify root cause and make necessary repairs.

  • Execute tests according to testing procedures and established processes.

  • Demonstrate good working knowledge of computers, data recorders, digital multimeters, various measurement instruments, pneumatic/hydraulic gauges, various hand tools.

  • Demonstrate ability to read and understand electrical schematics and wire lists.

  • Clearly document and report any anomaly or failure found during test execution.

  • Demonstrate growth in understanding and optimization of test execution and troubleshooting.

  • Demonstrate strong knowledge and comprehension of schematics, bloc diagrams, wire lists, functional diagrams along with knowledge of basic Electronics and the operation of 12VDC-72VDC, 220VAC-480VAC, and 750DC systems.

  • Support mechanical installations and repairs on rail vehicles as needed.

  • Support the installation of electrical panels, equipment, components, and have good understanding of how they operate in order to troubleshoot any electrical issues.

  • Technician safety awareness is critical and should always be considered while performing or setting up for any type of test. Technician must understand and apply all applicable WOOJIN Safety Procedures.

  • Any and all other responsibilities, in addition to those mentioned above, as assigned by supervisor/manager. Any interpretation/clarification with responsibilities above will be settled by the supervisor/manager. Qualifications

Requirements


  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required. BS in Electrical Engineering Degree desirable.

  • Use of multimeters, meggers, hi-pots, and other test equipment.

  • Use of hand tools.

  • Electrical schematic interpretation.

  • Faulty circuit troubleshooting.


Preferred


  • Use of power tools and machinery desirable.

  • Experience in rail equipment or avionics industry.


Work Experience

Minimum 5 years’ experience in related field (Electrical testing).


Working Conditions (Industrial/Environmental)

Must be able to work different shifts and overtime as needed. Work will take place in a heavy industrial environment on concrete and paved floors as well as outside in rail yards.


Physical Requirements


  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Must be able to work in confined spaces, standing or crouching for long periods of time.
