Job summary

Peraton Labs is seeking a Test Systems Engineer to support its Electronic Warfare Research organization at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. The role is on-site five days a week and involves developing test plans, coordinating with multiple stakeholders, and leading live-fire test activities.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s in a technical field, 5+ years engineering experience (3 with a Master’s), US citizenship, and a TS/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

• Author, review, and execute detailed Test Plans for Developmental Testing and Operational Testing; translate requirements into verifiable metrics.
• Serve as Technical Test Lead for live-fire demonstrations and IR signature collection events; perform sensor integration and coordinate test support.
• Configure, calibrate, and operate data acquisition systems, tactical sensors, telemetry, and diagnostic software to capture real-time metrics.
• Identify, analyze, and document technical risks, safety hazards, and failure modes early in the lifecycle with mitigation strategies.
• Verify system interoperability with C5ISR networks and Army architectures.
• Initiate and manage POs for lab/test equipment, tracking expenditures against budgets.
• Manage the technical cost, schedule, and performance baseline for R&D projects in a lab environment

Job description

Responsibilities

Peraton Labs is seeking a Test Systems Engineer to support its Electronic Warfare Research organization. This position is located at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland and requires on site work, 5 days a week. This engineer will need to be able to develop test plans and coordinate details and schedules with multiple parties.

• Author, review, and execute detailed Test Plans (DTPs) for both Developmental Testing (DT) and Operational Testing (OT); analyze and translate top-level requirements documents into verifiable test metrics.
• Serve as the Technical Test Lead for live-fire demonstrations and Infrared (IR) signature collection events; perform sensor integration, conduct comprehensive site surveys, and coordinate multi-organizational test support.
• Configure, calibrate, and operate advanced data acquisition systems, tactical sensors, telemetry, and diagnostic software to capture and analyze critical performance metrics in real time.
• Identify, analyze, and document technical risks, safety hazards, and failure modes early in the acquisition lifecycle to establish mitigation strategies prior to physical test execution.
• Verify that tactically deployed systems seamlessly integrate and interoperate with existing Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) networks and standard Army architectures.
• Initiate and manage Purchase Orders (POs) for specialized laboratory and test equipment, diligently tracking expenditures against operational budgets to ensure cost-effective procurement.
• Manage the technical cost, schedule, and performance baseline for research and development (R&D) engineering projects within a laboratory environment.

Target Salary Range

$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
