Job summary

ABB in Richmond, VA is seeking a Test Supervisor to lead a production team within a unit to execute production processes, transforming parts into ABB products efficiently and cost-effectively. You will ensure continuous operation aligned with schedules and quality standards, allocating resources to meet line production targets.

The role requires coordinating with maintenance and quality teams, driving improvements, and maintaining safety and compliance. Onsite work in Richmond, VA is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field with minimum years of manufacturing experience or related track record.
  • Experience leading teams in a manufacturing or electrical environment is a plus.
  • Enhanced knowledge of electrical equipment and the industry is preferred.
  • Experience with SAP is a plus.
  • Position is primarily assigned to an off-shift, with flexibility to train on other shifts.
  • Candidates must have work authorization to work for ABB in the US.

  • Ensure production scheduling and plans meet volume requirements and inventory service levels.
  • Recommend technical equipment and facility improvements as necessary.
  • Identify deficiencies in the production area and oversee improvement actions.
  • Manage the resolution of critical product or equipment issues with relevant internal teams.

The work model for the role is: Onsite, Richmond, VA

Your role and responsibilities

In this role as a Test Supervisor , you will have the opportunity to lead a team within a Production unit or line to execute production processes, transforming parts and raw materials into ABB products in a timely and cost-effective manner. Each day, you will ensure continuous and efficient operation in accordance with volumes, schedules, procedures, drawings, and quality and safety standards and policies. You will also showcase your expertise by organizing and allocating resources to meet line production targets effectively and efficiently.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Ensuring that production scheduling and production plan meet the volume requirements agreed upon in the demand plan and defined inventory service levels.

  • Recommending technical equipment and facility improvements as necessary.

  • Identifying deficiencies in production area, proposing improvement activities, and overseeing implementation of actions to improve production performance.

  • Managing the resolution of critical product or equipment issues together with relevant internal teams.

Qualifications for the role:
  • Bachelor degree in technical field (preferred) PLUS minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience OR Associate degree PLUS 5 years related experience OR High School Diploma PLUS minimum 7 years of related experience.

  • Experience in leading teams in a manufacturing or electrical environment, a plus

  • Possess an enhanced knowledge of electrical equipment and the industry, preferred

  • Experience with SAP, a plus

  • This position is primarily assigned to an off-shift ; however, flexibility is required to temporarily train on and work other shifts

  • Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
