Job summary

ABB is seeking a Test Supervisor in Richmond, VA to lead a production team on a high-efficiency line. You will ensure scheduling aligns to demand plans, allocate resources, and drive improvements in equipment and processes while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Reporting to Test Operations Manager, you will oversee shifts, coordinate with maintenance and QA, and ensure timely delivery of products. The role requires flexibility across shifts and valid work authorization in the US.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in technical field with 3+ years of manufacturing experience, or equivalent combinations.
  • Associate degree plus 5 years related experience may apply.
  • High School Diploma plus 7 years related experience considered.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure production scheduling and plans meet volume requirements per demand plan and inventory service levels.
  • Recommend technical equipment and facility improvements as needed.
  • Identify deficiencies in production area and oversee improvement activities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve critical product or equipment issues.

The work model for the role is: Onsite, Richmond, VA

Your role and responsibilities

In this role as a Test Supervisor, you will have the opportunity to lead a team within a Production unit or line to execute production processes, transforming parts and raw materials into ABB products in a timely and cost-effective manner. Each day, you will ensure continuous and efficient operation in accordance with volumes, schedules, procedures, drawings, and quality and safety standards and policies. You will also showcase your expertise by organizing and allocating resources to meet line production targets effectively and efficiently. You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Ensuring that production scheduling and production plan meet the volume requirements agreed upon in the demand plan and defined inventory service levels.

  • Recommending technical equipment and facility improvements as necessary.

  • Identifying deficiencies in production area, proposing improvement activities, and overseeing implementation of actions to improve production performance.

  • Managing the resolution of critical product or equipment issues together with relevant internal teams.

Qualifications for the role:
  • Bachelor degree in technical field (preferred) PLUS minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience OR Associate degree PLUS 5 years related experience OR High School Diploma PLUS minimum 7 years of related experience.

  • Experience in leading teams in a manufacturing or electrical environment, a plus

  • Possess an enhanced knowledge of electrical equipment and the industry, preferred

  • Experience with SAP, a plus

  • This position is primarily assigned to an off-shift; however, flexibility is required to temporarily train on and work other shifts

  • Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant’s qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $68,600 and $109,760 annually.
