Job summary

Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope (OBE) is seeking a Lab Technician to support testing in our lab, selecting units, transporting them, and preparing specimens for air and water penetration tests.

You will analyze test results, communicate with supervisors, assist in product certification and buck building, and help coordinate shipping to customers. Proficiency in Excel/Outlook/ Word and strong math are required; precision tools experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and use precision tools (caliper and dial indicator).
• Strong mathematical skills.
• Great communication skills.
• Problem solving and analytical skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel/Outlook/Word.

Responsibilities

• Select units for testing
• Transport units to and from the lab
• Unwrap and re-wrap the units
• Specimen preparation
• Perform air infiltration and water penetration tests
• Analyze and determine causes for test failure
• Communicate with Line Supervisors
• Assist in product certification and buck building
• Coordinate with the shipping department to prevent delays in shipping to the customer
• Other duties as assigned
