Job summary

MLS Educational Consultants in McLean, VA seeks an experienced Test Prep Tutor to deliver in-person instruction for HSPT, SAT, ACT, PSAT, SSAT, ISEE and AP exams. You will tailor lessons to each student and maintain a supportive, encouraging learning environment.

Responsibilities include creating customized study plans, teaching test-taking strategies and time management, reviewing practice tests, tracking progress, and communicating with students and parents.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience tutoring HSPT, SAT, and ACT.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred.
• Experience working with middle- and/or high-school students.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Test Prep Tutor to provide individualized, in-person instruction to students preparing for standardized exams including HSPT, SAT, ACT, PSAT, SSAT, ISEE and AP exams. Tutors provide individualized instruction, develop customized study plans, teach effective test-taking strategies, and support students in building confidence and improving performance on exams. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of these exams, excellent communication skills, and the ability to tailor instruction to each student's academic needs and learning style. We have an immediate need for tutors with HSPT and SAT experience.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience tutoring students for the HSPT, SAT, and ACT.
• Strong knowledge of the content, structure, and strategies associated with all three exams.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent academic background preferred.
• Prior experience working with middle- and/or high-school students.
• Experience tutoring STEM subjects is a bonus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Patient, engaging, organized, and dependable.
• Ability to explain challenging concepts clearly and adapt instruction to different learning styles.
• Comfortable providing in-person instruction in McLean, VA.
• Reliable transportation and availability for scheduled in-person sessions.
