Job summary

AMPERA INC in the United States seeks a Test Program Lead to plan, prepare, and execute first-of-a-kind technology test programs. You will establish safe, disciplined test processes and coordinate test personnel and resources to ensure tests meet approved requirements, plans, and facility controls.

Qualifications

  • Direct briefings, shift turnover, test configuration control, and abnormal condition responses.
  • Ensure tests are conducted safely within operating limits and qualifications.
  • Assign and supervise Test Engineers, Test Conductors, Test Operators, and technicians.
  • Monitor execution and resolve technical, safety, or schedule issues.

Role Summary

Lead the planning, preparation, and execution of AMPERA’s system and first-of-a-kind technology test programs. The role is responsible for establishing safe and disciplined test processes, coordinating test personnel and resources, and ensuring testing is performed in accordance with approved requirements, plans, procedures, and facility controls.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day test operations, including personnel assignments, facility utilization, test scheduling, and operational priorities.
  • Lead test readiness activities and confirm that equipment, procedures, personnel, instrumentation, utilities, permits, and safety controls are ready before testing begins.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Testing, Environment, Safety and Health, Quality Assurance, Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, Facilities, and external suppliers.
  • Oversee the preparation, review, approval, and controlled use of test plans, test procedures, operating procedures, checklists, and test records.
  • Direct pre-evolution briefings, shift turnover, test configuration control, operational communications, and response to abnormal conditions.
  • Ensure tests are conducted safely and within approved operating limits, test boundaries, and personnel qualifications.
  • Assign and supervise Test Engineers, Test Conductors, Test Operators, technicians, and supporting personnel.
  • Monitor test execution, resolve operational conflicts, and elevate technical, safety, quality, or schedule issues when required.
  • Ensure test anomalies, equipment problems, procedure deviations, and unexpected results are documented, evaluated, and properly dispositioned.
  • Maintain test-facility readiness through preventive maintenance, calibration, inspection, housekeeping, and equipment-status controls.
  • Support test-data review, lessons learned, corrective actions, and continuous improvement of AMPERA’s test processes.
  • Develop staffing, training, qualification, and on-call support plans for test operations.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex testing, commissioning, plant operations, laboratory operations, or industrial equipment operations.
  • Experience planning and coordinating multidisciplinary work involving mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, controls, and safety functions.
  • Ability to evaluate operational readiness, manage concurrent priorities, and make sound decisions under changing test conditions.
  • Strong leadership, communication, documentation, and practical problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safe, disciplined, and procedure-based operations.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with power-generation systems, thermal-fluid systems, turbomachinery, high-pressure systems, process facilities, research and development testing, or nuclear-related testing environments. Experience developing test organizations, qualification programs, conduct-of-operations practices, or test-facility processes is also preferred.

** Compensation for this position will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. ** Schedule: Primarily assigned to a day-shift schedule - 8 hours
