Job summary

West500 Partners is partnering with a Seattle-area nonprofit to hire a contract Test Lead responsible for the test strategy, plan, and end-to-end testing of an HR and Payroll implementation. The role requires leading UAT, parallel payroll testing, and coordinating test cycles.

This hybrid onsite position (2 days/week in Greater Downtown Seattle) runs through December 2027 with full benefits. The ideal candidate has 8+ years in software testing, 3+ years in QA leadership, and strong HR

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software testing with at least 3 years in Test Lead/QA leadership.
• Experience testing HRIS/HRMS systems during implementations.
• Experience with UAT, parallel payroll testing, and payroll reconciliation.
• Experience developing test strategy and coordinating end-to-end test cycles.
• Strong defect management and triage skills.
• Knowledge of HR processes (hire-to-retire lifecycle, compensation, benefits, time tracking).
• Background in integration testing (APIs, middleware, SFTP).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own the test strategy, test plan, and test approach for the HR/Payroll implementation.
• Lead UAT and parallel payroll testing efforts and coordinate end-to-end test cycles.
• Manage defects and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure quality releases.
• Collaborate with integrations testing across APIs, middleware, and file transfers.

For over 80 years, our well-established, mission-driven client has supported the Seattle-area community by providing subsidized rental housing and rental assistance for low-income, elderly, and disabled residents. They’re currently in need of a contract Test Lead to develop and own the test strategy, test plan, and test approach for their HR and Payroll implementation. Experience testing HRIS/HCM systems during an implementation is essential, as is experience leading UAT and parallel payroll testing. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of talented, mission-driven professionals who are improving our local Seattle community.

Hybrid remote opportunity: onsite 2 days a week (Greater Downtown Seattle area)
