Sonepar is seeking an entry-level Test Lab Technician for its Irby Tools & Safety operation in Fargo, ND. You will receive hands-on training to support testing of electrical safety equipment, including handling, inspection, and preparation for shipping.

You will work with a small team to operate test equipment, inspect products, and maintain inventory to ensure timely processing and delivery to customers. This role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and durability of materials in testing.

Test Lab Technician Job Summary:

Irby Tool & Safety is excited to offer an entry-level opportunity in our Electrical Test Lab. As a Test Lab Technician, you will receive hands-on training to perform manual and clerical duties related to testing electrical safety equipment, including receiving, cleaning, inspecting, testing, and shipping equipment.

What you will do:

Safely operate equipment : You will handle all necessary equipment for testing and preparing materials.

Inspect and test electrical safety equipment: Your responsibilities will include inspecting and testing safety equipment used to protect utility workers and electricians.

Inventory management and shipping : You’ll monitor the status of materials in various phases of testing and ensure efficient inventory management.

Qualifications:

Ability to read, write, and communicate proficiently in English to perform the essential functions of the position, follow safety procedures, understand work-related instructions, and complete required documentation

Basic computer operation skills

Ability to safely lift packages and objects sometimes exceeding 50 pounds

Physical ability to stand on your feet most of the day

Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision

Strong work ethic, organizational skills, and attention to detail
