Job summary

Freudenberg Group is seeking a Test Lab Technician to set up and monitor component tests, ensuring accurate data for product development. You will work closely with Product Engineering in a dynamic manufacturing environment focused on oil seals for general industry and automotive applications.

The role requires meticulous attention to equipment calibration, data logging, and adherence to safety and quality standards while supporting multiple tests concurrently.

Qualifications

• General mechanical knowledge helps in seal and hardware testing.
• Print and schematic reading experience is required to interpret tests.

• Familiarity with measuring tools is essential for verifying parts and setups.
• Basic knowledge of dimensioning and tolerancing.

Responsibilities

• Set up, monitor and document component tests to support customer requirements and product qualification.
• Install seals, shafts, bore plates, test heads and associated hardware.
• Dial in offsets, oil levels, shaft speeds, temperatures and pressures.
• Log data with DAQ systems and perform oil sampling.
• Calibrate laboratory equipment and maintain test setups.
• Order supplies and ensure a clean, efficient workspace.

Responsibilities:

The Test Lab. Technician is responsible for setting up, monitoring, and documenting component tests to support customer requirements, market research, and product qualification efforts. Working closely with Product Engineering teams within a dynamic manufacturing environment focused on oil seals for general industry and automotive applications, this role ensures accurate and reliable test data that informs product performance and development. Responsibilities include:

• Setup, breakdown, monitor and maintain tests
• Installing seals, shafts, bore plates, test heads and additional hardware as needed
• Dialing in offsets, setting oil levels, shaft speeds, temperatures and pressures
• Data logging/acquisition (DAQ) and oil sampling
• Ladder Logic Programming of machines
• Measuring seals and hardware
• Installing additional test support systems (Pumps, fans, chambers, etc)
• Calibrating of all the laboratory equipment
• Ordering supplies and equipment
• Maintaining a clean and efficient work are

Qualifications:

Special Requirements:

• Time management is crucial; multiple tests will be running at any given time. There is strict timing on the start and completion of tests. Accurate setups are critical with little room for error. Timely and accurate communication.
• Must be able to lift items up to 35 lbs, occasionally up to 65lbs; only short distances.

Ideal Qualifications:

• General mechanical knowledge and understanding of oil seals (Radial shaft seals) and their function
• Print & schematic reading experience
• Self-motivated, organized and detail oriented
• Familiar and proficient with all measuring tools needed
• Basic knowledge of dimensioning and tolerancing
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
