Job summary

Paycom - ATS in Joplin, MO seeks a Test Lab Technician to perform electrical testing on wire harnesses and cable assemblies. You will set up test equipment, follow procedures, record results, and support failure investigations.

You will work with Engineering, Quality, and Production to ensure compliance with customer specifications and Midcon quality requirements. Strong attention to detail and ability to read drawings are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical training in electronics preferred.
• Experience with electrical testing and cable/wire harness manufacturing preferred.
• Ability to read drawings, schematics, specs, and written test procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and clear documentation.

Responsibilities

• Set up and perform tests according to customer specifications, drawings, work instructions, and approved test procedures.
• Conduct tests such as continuity, resistance, insulation resistance, dielectric withstand, pull force, and other electrical or mechanical tests.
• Operate DIT-MCO automated test equipment and approved test programs to test wire harnesses and cable assemblies; review results and investigate test failures.
• Inspect test setups and verify equipment and fixtures are suitable for the work.
• Record test conditions, measurements, results, and deviations clearly in required records or systems.
• Identify failed or unusual results, contain affected product as directed, and communicate findings to the team.
• Assist Engineering and Quality with troubleshooting, failure analysis, prototype evaluations, and process improvements.
• Build or maintain test fixtures and cables within scope.
• Monitor equipment calibration status and report issues.
• Handle customer products and technical information per quality, safety, and security requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe test area.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Position SummaryThe Test Lab Technician performs electrical testing of wire harnesses, cable assemblies, components, and materials. This position sets up test equipment, follows approved procedures, records results, and helps investigate failures.
