Job summary

Waymo in Mountain View, CA is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer / QA Engineer for Software Development in Test within the Systems Engineering team. You will ensure release-critical tests run on time, build health check pipelines, and debug failures with counterparts in Simulation and SRE to understand root causes.

We prefer robotics or autonomous vehicle software experience, and a bachelor’s degree in a technical field is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or other relevant technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, QA engineering, Software Development in Test, or other equivalent experience.
• Recent experience coding in Python and SQL.
• Excellent debugging skills and strong written/verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Ensure release-critical tests execute on time and stay healthy.
• Build health check pipelines for key tests and manage testing infrastructure across platforms.
• Debug pipeline failures with cross-team collaboration to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.
• Perform retrospectives and actively reduce technical debt.
• Work across testing methodologies including collision avoidance, rules of the road, perception, fault protection, and more.
