Calibration Technician III

We are seeking a Calibration Technician III to support aerospace and defense programs through the calibration, certification, maintenance, and repair of Electronic Measurement and Test Equipment (M&TE). This role supports commercial and military aircraft programs including the 777X, 737 MAX, 787, P-8, Tanker, and other aerospace platforms, requiring expertise in RF, microwave, DC/low-frequency metrology, calibration laboratory operations, automated test systems, and measurement science.
Responsibilities
- Calibrate, adjust, certify, maintain, and repair Electronic Measurement and Test Equipment (M&TE) using approved calibration standards and procedures.
- Perform radio frequency (RF), microwave, and direct current/low-frequency (DC/LF) metrology processes to ensure equipment accuracy and compliance.
- Update equipment status within established tracking systems and complete all required calibration and certification documentation.
- Verify equipment readiness for calibration in accordance with metrology laboratory processes and procedures.
- Prioritize and execute workload based on automated reports, priority assignments, and operational requirements.
- Conduct visual inspections of electronic measurement and process equipment to identify discrepancies, wear, or damage.
- Identify, document, and route non-conforming equipment in accordance with quality and metrology processes.
- Process equipment using approved calibration procedures, process specifications, equipment drawings, and technical documentation.
- Verify equipment performance against manufacturer specifications and established standards.
- Conduct routine testing, analyze measurement data, and document calibration results.
- Troubleshoot calibration issues and support corrective actions for out-of-tolerance equipment.
- Provide technical guidance and clarification to internal customers regarding metrology processes and calibration requirements.
- Collaborate with calibration laboratory personnel to support measurement assurance and certification activities.
- Assist in the development, validation, and implementation of new calibration processes, procedures, and automated test methods.
- Perform mathematical calculations and uncertainty analysis required to evaluate measurement results.
- Support safety, quality, regulatory compliance, and first-time quality initiatives throughout calibration operations.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Associate degree and typically 3+ years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of related calibration, metrology, electronics, or measurement science experience.
- 3+ years of experience performing Electrical/Electronic DC/LF and/or RF & Microwave Metrology processes.
- Experience calibrating, certifying, maintaining, and troubleshooting Electronic Measurement and Test Equipment (M&TE).
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, MET/CAL, LabVIEW, Visual Basic/Basic programming, computer networking, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to interpret calibration procedures, technical specifications, equipment drawings, and manufacturer performance requirements.
- Experience analyzing measurement data and performing mathematical calculations related to calibration and metrology activities.
- Ability to work in a laboratory environment supporting aerospace, aviation, defense, or industrial measurement systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience working in a calibration laboratory environment.
- 3+ years of experience supporting a military Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory (PMEL) back shop.
- Certified Calibration Technician (CCT) certification.
- Experience configuring and operating data acquisition systems.
- Experience running, developing, or supporting automated hardware test systems.
- Aerospace, aviation, or defense industry experience.
- Familiarity with commercial and military aircraft programs and support environments.
