Job summary

Rantec Power Systems Inc., based in Los Osos, California, is seeking a Test Equipment Technician to build, calibrate, and troubleshoot test equipment and fixtures for our production environment.

You will work with engineers to repair and improve testing processes, maintain records, and ensure safety compliance. The role offers growth through hands-on experience and training opportunities while supporting a 9/80 schedule and occasional overtime.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a technical or engineering field preferred.
• 5 years of hands-on electronics test equipment experience preferred.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and assembly drawings.
• Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate test equipment, fixtures, and cabling.
• Provide routine maintenance and calibration of test equipment.
• Provide training for staff on proper use of test equipment.
• Alternate work schedule supporting weekends.
• Repair or replace faulty components or systems in test equipment, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Work with engineers and quality control personnel to address issues and improve testing processes.
• Execute manual and automated tests and document results thoroughly.
• Ensure all test equipment and procedures adhere to safety standards and regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of fabrication, maintenance, calibration, and repairs; include detailed reports and logs.
• Manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment, ensuring availability for maintenance and repairs.
• Ability to work flexible hours and/or different shifts, if needed.
• Adhere to OSHA, EPA, State and Federal regulations in a safe manner.
• Arrive to work on-time and meet scheduled shifts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
