Job summary

Emerson in Minnesota is seeking a driven engineering intern to design and implement automated tests and test infrastructure, collaborating with software, hardware and manufacturing teams to build robust, scalable testing frameworks.

You will participate in technical reviews, analyze change requests, and support global test systems while developing user-friendly interfaces and documentation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s in engineering
• Zero (0) years of related experience
• Ability to work full-time (40 hours) per week in-person at a Twin Cities location (Shakopee, Chanhassen, or Eden Prairie, MN)
• Legal authorization to work in the United States

Responsibilities

• Design and implement automated tests and test infrastructure – Collaborate with the team to build robust, scalable testing frameworks that ensure product reliability and performance.
• Participate in technical reviews – Contribute to reviews of product requirements, test plans, and implementation strategies to ensure alignment with engineering standards and customer needs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams – Work alongside software, hardware, and manufacturing teams to solve complex engineering challenges and drive product improvements.
• Analyze change requests – Evaluate proposed changes by assessing their impact on testing procedures, timelines, and overall product quality, ensuring smooth integration into development cycles.
• Support global manufacturing test systems – Assist in troubleshooting, maintaining, and deploying test stations across global sites, while developing user-friendly hardware interfaces and comprehensive support documentation such as service manuals and troubleshooting guides.
