Job summary

Torch Technologies, Inc. is looking for a mid-level Test Engineer to apply aerospace engineering principles at the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center in Eglin AFB, Florida. The role includes technical assessments of guidelines and providing oversight for major weapon program tests.

Job description

Torch Technologies is seeking a **Test Engineer (mid-level)** to apply professional aerospace engineering concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, techniques, materials, and equipment to project development, execution, and advisory services for the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) Nuclear Weapons Acquisition Division at Eglin AFB, Florida.

Responsibilities
  • Set criteria for test documentation and report technical information.
  • Perform technical assessments of test guidelines, methodologies, data sets, and formal reports.
  • Present testing strategies, goals, and processes to unit leadership at Safety Review Boards and Test Approval Boards.
  • Provide technical oversight and carry out engineering responsibilities for the testing and assessment of major weapon programs, including development, engineering, and operational tests.
  • Formulate test planning documents for weapons programs.
  • Predict future needs for test assets and range facilities.
  • Coordinate efforts with program offices and lead contractors.
  • Conduct pre‑mission briefings and post‑mission debriefings with aircrews regarding mission execution and objectives.
Qualifications
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (additional years of experience may substitute for the education requirement).
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of development testing and evaluation to provide technical advice for weapon systems, subsystems, and/or support equipment.
  • Knowledge of integrated air‑vehicles, ground systems, and support equipment sufficient to plan, design, test, troubleshoot, evaluate, and oversee development and sustainment of aerospace vehicles, systems, equipment, and components.
  • Strong communication skills with diverse stakeholders and ability to mediate conflicting demands for test resources.
  • Self‑starting attitude toward learning new systems under test, proactive approach to fulfilling program needs, and ownership of organizing and executing tasks.
  • Proven experience working effectively within a collaborative team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and technical writing.
  • Familiarity with DoD Acquisition processes or project management professional principles.
  • Must have program office experience.
  • Active Secret clearance (contingent on Special Access Program approval) with eligibility to acquire Top Secret.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in flight testing or as an aircrew member on military fighter or bomber aircraft.
  • Background in the DoD weapons acquisition lifecycle.
Schedule & Location

40 hours per week; Eglin AFB, FL; travel required (≈25%). Relocation assistance: none. Position contingent upon award of contract: no.
