Job summary

Hubbell Incorporated is seeking a Test Engineer to functionally test embedded firmware in AMI products. You will design, develop, modify and evaluate electronic parts or systems and contribute to hardware testing activities.

You will work with a team of engineers and lab technicians, perform tests, troubleshoot, and report results. A Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering and 3–6 years of experience in test environments are required, with familiarity in reading schematics and using test equipment;

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required.
  • 3–6 years in test and measurement environment required.
  • Ability to read complex blueprints and schematics for troubleshooting.

Job description

The Test Engineer functionally test embedded firmware in AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) in products. The Test Engineer designs, develops, modifies and evaluates electronic parts, components or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment, or other hardware systems and/or electrical engineering applications.

  • Perform and develop functional tests based on assigned projects.
  • Work with test engineers and lab technicians in a team environment.
  • Specific functional responsibilities are assigned and reviewed in a timely manner.
  • Other duties as required by the Director Engineering Lab & Product Test.
What will help you thrive in this role?
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (required)
  • 3-6 years of experience in test and measurement environment (required)
  • Ability to read complex blueprints and schematics to troubleshoot and repair Test Lab equipment.
  • Working knowledge of applicable requirements of regulatory bodies such as U.L., CSA and the National Electrical Code.
  • Experience with test and measurement equipment and methodologies for electrical systems

Proficient in Microsoft Office

Experience with automated test tools and test automation frameworks; Python, LabVIEW, or equivalent tools preferred.

  • Skilled in configuring, debugging, and troubleshooting hardware, firmware, software, and lab test environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical risk, test results, and recommendations clearly to engineering and management audiences.
