Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, CT seeks a Technical Project Manager for the Strategic Weapons System (SWS) during Columbia-class construction, test, and integration. The role requires full-time commitment on Saturdays and Sundays under an alternate work week.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Turn over with weekday leads and management to support weekend SWS continuity of operations.
• Provide technical support to optimize construction and test by ensuring proper SWS/SWSS installation, design, and test requirements.
• Ensure Construction and Test Readiness across GDEB including operations, planning, program office, and engineering personnel.
• Align and expedite SWS/SWSS problem resolutions to support ship certification and reduce schedule impact.
• Interface with internal and external senior leadership regarding scheduling and performance.
• Identify construction, installation, and test areas for continuous improvement initiatives.
• Build, maintain, and refine SWS/SWSS and other project schedules to support objectives and key events.
• Coordinate SWS/SWSS installation and test efforts.

This position provides Technical Project Management for the Strategic Weapons System (SWS) for COLUMBIA class construction, test, and integration of SWS/SWSS equipment in Groton, CT. This position is an alternate work week position where the successful candidate must serve full time on both Saturdays and Sundays.

Responsibilities Include

• Turn over with weekday leads and management to support weekend SWS Continuity of operations.
• Provide technical support to optimize excitability of construction and test by ensuring proper SWS/SWSS installation, design, and test requirements are met.
• Ensure Construction and Test Readiness in all areas of GDEB to include but not limited to operations, planning, program office, and engineering personnel.
• Align and expedite SWS/SWSS problem resolutions to support ship certification and reduce schedule impact of installation and test activities.
• Interface with internal and external senior leadership regarding scheduling and performance of work in areas assigned.
• Identify area of construction, installation, and test for continuous improvement initiatives.
• Build, Maintain , and refine SWS/SWSS and other projects schedules to support company objectives and key events.
• Coordinate SWS/SWSS installation and test efforts
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

• 7 + years of submarine construction, test , operations , planning experience (or combination thereof)
• HS Diploma or GED
• Work travel will be required

Preferred

• 2 + years of supervisory /area superintendent experience
• Associate’s degree or higher
• Ability to read system diagrams and similar engineering drawings
• Lean Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt)
• System engineering capabilities
• Working knowledge of existing EB policies and procedures for operations and planning
