BCT LLC is seeking a Test Engineer III in Annapolis Junction, Maryland. The ideal candidate will hold an active TS/SCI with POLY and will design testing postures/frameworks across software and hardware domains to support test teams and drive testing improvements.

The role requires collaboration with agile teams, experience in automated test frameworks, and a track record of delivering robust test solutions in a fast-paced, security-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) with 8+ years of experience.
• If the degree is not in the STEM field, must have an additional 5 years of Testing for a total of 13 years.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, or C#.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional agile teams to understand project requirements and user stories.
• Understand HW Intricacies to help prioritize testing based on risks.
• Design and prototype automated test frameworks for applications and REST APIs.
• Analyze requirements and generate test use cases.
• Identify, analyze, and report defects.
• Verify fixes and track issues to resolution.
• Perform manual testing when necessary to supplement automated testing efforts.
• Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-up meetings, sprint demos, and retrospectives.

Role Description

The candidate will be a dedicated tester with experience in both the Software and Hardware worlds. A tester in this role will enable other test teams and testing activities by designing testing postures/frameworks at a macro level and supporting work performed at the micro level. Members of this team will get a broad spectrum of the entire effort and help drive testing design/ improvements.

Qualification Requirements Include

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) with 8+ years of experience.
• If the degree is not in the STEM field, must have an additional 5 years of Testing for a total of 13 years.
• Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Java, or C#.
• Comfortable with Linux/Unix command line interface and command execution.
• Experience designing and developing automated test frameworks from scratch.

Desired Skills

• Familiarity with Hardware and how it influences Software configuration/performance.
• Familiarity with modern test automation tools and libraries (e.g., Selenium, SOAPUI, Python)
• Familiarity with debugging mechanisms across various languages.
• Familiarity with Container technologies (e.g., Docker, Podman) and orchestration technologies (e.g., RKE2)
• Understanding of software configuration management practices and CVCD tools (e.g., GitLab, Jenkins).
• Solid understanding of Scrum and agile methodologies.
• Experience creating user stories and defining acceptance criteria.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
• Ability to analyze requirements and create detailed test cases.
• Knowledge of JIRA or similar tools for tracking issues and managing tasks.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work effectively both independently and in a team.

Salary Range: $190,000 - $291,000

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, BCT-LLC considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
