Test Engineer II, Performance Automation at Cypress HCM in Plano, TX is a 12‑month contract. The role is 100% onsite, five days a week, with a schedule of roughly 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Pay rate is $50 to $65 per hour.

You will design, build, execute, and analyze performance tests for APIs, web apps, and backend services, focusing on production traffic modeling, bottleneck identification, and improvements in scalability using k6 as the primary tool and JMeter as a secondary option.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5 to 12 years of overall software testing, engineering, or related experience.
• Strong hands‑on experience in performance testing.
• 3 to 5 years of practical experience using k6.
• Deep knowledge of k6 and JMeter.
• Experience building and maintaining performance test scripts.
• Experience testing APIs across different architectures, web applications, and backend services.
• Ability to design and execute load, stress, endurance, soak, spike, and scalability tests.
• Strong understanding of HTTP/HTTPS, cookies, sessions, headers, and authentication.
• Ability to interpret response-time, throughput, error-rate, CPU, memory, and latency metrics.
• Experience with at least one major cloud platform, such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes and containerized applications, including environments such as Amazon EKS.
• Scripting experience with JavaScript, Groovy, or Python.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.

Responsabilités

• Build and maintain performance test scripts using k6 as the primary tool and JMeter as the secondary tool

Position Overview

• A leading global organization is seeking an experienced Test Engineer II specializing in performance testing and automation. This position will design, build, execute, and analyze performance tests for APIs, web applications, backend services, and containerized environments.


• The ideal candidate will have strong hands‑on experience with k6 and JMeter, with k6 being the primary testing tool. This individual should be comfortable modeling production traffic, identifying performance bottlenecks, analyzing system metrics, and partnering with technical teams to improve application performance and scalability.

Key Responsibilities
