Job summary

Agiliti, Milwaukee-based engineering division, seeks a Test Engineer II to lead test and certification activities for complex electromechanical devices. You will develop rigorous test strategies, fixtures, and verification plans, and collaborate across Engineering, Quality, and Regulatory teams to ensure product compliance and readiness.

The role requires a BS in mechanical/biomedical engineering, 3–5 years of relevant experience, and strong hands-on test program leadership with CAD and

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
  • 3–5 years designing or testing products in medical, consumer, automotive, or aerospace industries.
  • Experience designing and running test programs for complex electromechanical devices.
  • Understanding of embedded systems, PCBA manufacturing and power electronics.
  • Understanding of schematic capture, PCB layout, circuit simulation tools, and embedded microprocessor programming.
  • Experience with mass production processes for consumer products (injection molding, sheet metal, etc.).
  • Experience with 3D design and analysis tools and prototype production technology.
  • Ability to lead collaborative teams through complex projects.
  • Familiarity with agency certifications (ISO, IEC, AAMI, UL, CE, CISPR, FCC, FDA).
  • Travel up to 25% (Domestic and International).

Responsibilities

  • Lead test and certification activities across multiple complex projects.
  • Develop and execute test strategies, fixtures, and verification plans.
  • Troubleshoot and validate electromechanical systems using digital tools.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and certification standards.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to solve development challenges.
  • Support prototype testing, production readiness, and root cause analysis.
  • Drive continuous improvement in testing processes and technologies.
  • Present project updates and lead design reviews.
  • Contribute to risk analysis, IP development, and standards participation.

What You Will Do in This Role?

What You Will Need for This Role?
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field required.
  • 3 - 5 years of experience designing or testing products in the medical, consumer, automotive, or aerospace industry.
  • Demonstrated capability designing and running test programs for complex electromechanical devices.
  • Understanding of embedded systems, PCBA manufacturing and power electronics.
  • Understanding of schematic capture, PCB layout, circuit simulation tools, and embedded microprocessor programing.
  • Understanding of and familiarity with mass production manufacturing processes for consumer products, including injection molding, blow molding, welded steel structures, sheet metal stamping and forming, die casting, and CNC technologies.
  • Experience with 3D design and analysis tools and prototype production technology.
  • Proven versatility in both large and small entrepreneurial organizations as demonstrated by succession in responsibilities and willingness to scale abilities to complete objectives.
  • Experience in creating and leading collaborative teams through complex projects.
  • Familiarity with other technical disciplines such as EE and embedded firmware preferred.
  • Experience in DFM, DFA, DFMEA, or other risk-based design strategies.
  • Experience designing for agency certifications (e.g., ISO, IEC, AAMI, UL, CE, CISPR, FCC, FDA) required.
  • Prior experience with the 60601 family or other FDA related standards is a significant plus.
  • Prior experience interfacing with Certification bodies (Intertek, UL, TUV) preferred.
  • Prior experience working with project management software and Scrum type environments (Jira, Monday, Todoist, etc.)
  • Demonstrated financial acumen.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience in Healthcare product development or similarly Federally regulated field.
Required Skills & Abilities
  • Experience with MPLAB or similar DAQ system for instrumentation of test fixtures.
  • 3D CAD skills (SolidWorks) for creating robust parametric models; top-down "master model"-driven assemblies.
  • Experience using computational tools for structural analysis (FEA) and dynamic mechanical performance a significant plus.
  • Analytical Thinking, Strategic Perspective, and application of industry standards.
  • Ability to manage client relationships and stay current with industry developments.
  • Must be able to travel up to 25% (Domestic and International).
