Job summary

Phoenix Defense is seeking a Test Engineer I to join the Integration and Test team on the JLCCTC program in Orlando. You will learn testing methodologies, execute predefined test tasks, and support senior engineers in testing activities.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, willingness to learn, and the potential to obtain DoD security clearances. U.S. citizenship and the ability to travel to military installations are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Basic understanding of testing principles.
• Willingness to learn and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with scripting or programming languages is a plus.
• Ability to obtain DoD security clearance; U.S. citizenship may be required.

Responsibilities

• Identify, analyze, and document basic issues with program functionality, output, or content.
• Execute test cases and document results in bug tracking systems (e.g., Jira).
• Assist in testing system modifications in preparation for implementation.
• Install, maintain, or use software testing tools under supervision.
• Provide basic troubleshooting support for staff and users.
• Maintain records of daily transactions, problems, and remedial actions taken.
• Test, maintain, and monitor computer programs and systems under guidance.
• Read technical manuals and attend training sessions to enhance knowledge of testing tools and processes.
