Job summary

Applied Technical Services, LLC is seeking a motivated engineer/technician to join our testing team in Colorado Springs. You will set up and perform static and dynamic tests, prepare specimens, document procedures, and report results according to client protocols and industry standards.

A BS in Chemistry, Physics, or Engineering is required, with strong math skills and hands-on engineering ability. CAD/SolidWorks experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office are preferred.

Qualifications

• BS in Chemistry, Physics, or Engineering or equivalent.
• High mathematical proficiency a plus.
• Ability to adapt to changes, solve problems creatively and communicate effectively.
• Hands on engineering abilities.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel and Adobe Photoshop.
• CAD software experience. SolidWorks Preferred.
• ITAR: U.S. Persons Only.

Responsibilities

• Set up and perform tests and data collection per protocols.
• Prepare specimens and document procedures, including measurements and photos.
• Create test reports detailing procedures, data and results.
• Develop non-standard testing protocols based on client needs.
• Provide technical support to sales and consulting as needed.
• Train new engineering/technical staff as needed.
• Participate in ASTM and ISO activities.
• Assist client conference calls with technical input.
• Manage approximately 20 projects and track time for billing.
• Maintain records to comply with quality systems and government standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency using lean methods.
