  • Willingness to travel to vendor facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop test plans, Project Department Test Procedures, and other testing documents.
  • Collaborate with Responsible Engineer to prepare project deliverables (Test Plans, TRM, Component Selection Plans).
  • Attend project status meetings to support the Primary Team.
  • Oversee scheduled testing activities for all project phases as per PM User's Guide.
  • Update testing activities in the plant outage and P6 schedule.
  • Provide SME-level consultation in controls/electrical topics.

Overview

The Test Engineer position will be located onsite in Bridgman, MI. This contract role is long-term and reports to the client management team within Projects. You will support the testing and implementation of ongoing projects.

Responsibilities
  • Test Document Preparation: Develop test plans, Project Department Test Procedures, and other testing documents that align with Engineering Change (EC) testing requirements, ensuring compliance with current controls, electrical testing standards, and industry best practices.
  • Collaboration: Work with the Responsible Engineer to prepare Project Department deliverables, including Test Plans, Requirements Traceability Matrix, Component Selection Plans and Testing Readiness Presentations following the Project Management User's Guide.
  • Meeting Participation: Attend project status meetings and other necessary meetings to support the Primary Team.
  • Testing Management: Oversee scheduled testing activities (logic/duration/resources) for all project phases, following the Project Management User's Guide.
  • Schedule Updates: Manage updates to testing activities within the plant's outage and T-week P6 schedule.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Offer SME-level consultation in controls/electrical topics, transferring specialized knowledge to project stakeholders to achieve project goals.
  • Technical Coordination: Lead project technical coordination, testing, and other assigned activities to ensure quality, cost control, schedule adherence, and scope management.
  • Resource Determination: Identify project resources necessary for tasks and collaborate with project managers and supervisors to secure support, including specialty test equipment for Qualification Testing, Site Acceptance Testing and Post Mod Testing.
  • Specialty Testing Facilitation: Develop plans and processes for specialty testing required for specific projects, resolving system and communication issues. Assess if external services are necessary to address specific criteria. Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing to ensure products or systems meet plant procurement specification, Test Plan and all other project requirements.
  • Procurement Review: Evaluate controls/electrical procurement items for vendor services and project materials/components, ensuring they meet project requirements using appropriate design documents and ensuring the correct scope of work is specified.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, required.
  • Previous nuclear experience, 1 year required.
  • Proficient in writing test procedures and conducting field testing activities.
  • Digital experience with security computer systems, servers, or networking (fiber/cat 6 cables)
  • Obtain Test Engineer qualifications within 4 months of hire date.
  • Willingness to travel to vendor facilities.
  • Must pass a criminal background check, drug/alcohol screening (including medical and recreational marijuana and CBD oil), and employment testing.

Compensation and Benefits

WECTEC Staffing Services offers competitive pay to all employees. The base salary range for this position is estimated to be $55/hour to $90/hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
