Job summary

Qualifications

  • BS in electrical or computer engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience operating and maintaining test chambers and automated test and measurement equipment.
  • Familiar with hardware development life cycle and EMI/EMC standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain avionics test plans and automated test equipment in compliance with company standards.
  • Develop and maintain test standards and interface with subsystem stakeholders.
  • Support procurement of capital equipment to maintain test readiness.
  • Validate automated test equipment and systems.
  • Facilitate performance testing and environmental testing of avionics hardware.
  • Provide root-cause analysis for failures and guide rework of prototype hardware.

Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will be responsible for executing test campaigns in support of manufacturing and qualifying flight avionics hardware. You will coordinate test system requirements with Avionics subsystem owners, integration and test engineers, and operations personnel. This hands-on position requires experience in developing and validating environmental and EMI/EMC test plans and executing test campaigns to produce reliable flight hardware for re-usable launch vehicles. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.Responsibilities:Develop and maintain avionics test plans and automated test equipment in compliance with company standardsDevelop and maintain test standards, interface with subsystem stakeholders, and support procurement of capital equipment to maintain test readinessValidation of automated test equipment and systemsFacilitate performance testing, calibration, environmental testing of avionics development hardware per test plansProvide support to identify root cause for failures and manage the rework of prototype hardware during development test and debug cyclesEstablish and maintain test result metrics to support continuous improvement in data reduction, retention, and reporting methods and standardsMaintain automated test equipment configuration control and traceability to support quality auditsFacilitate transition of development avionics hardware into productionQualifications:Minimum of a B.S. in electrical, computer engineering or related field3+ years of hands-on experience operating and maintaining test chambers and automated test and measurement equipmentSound knowledge of electronics, electrical circuit fundamentalsSound knowledge of EMI/EMC standards, IEC & automotive standards or equivalentFamiliar with hardware development life cycleExcellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skillsPassion for hands-on problem solving and avionics integration and testAbility to work independently and as part of a team on rapid development programsAbility to travel to and work at remote sites for extended periods supporting test integration, commissioning, and trainingDesired:5+ years of integrated test and operations experience (aircraft, launch vehicles, spacecraft, racing teams)Experience managing complex projects combining hardware, firmware, and softwareExperience leading the development and testing of real-time embedded systems with a focus on modular and extensible architecturesExperience developing hardware to IPC J-STD-0001xS, IPC/WHMA-A-620x-S, and/or NASA-STD-8739.n standardsExperience with safety-critical systems development (automotive, aerospace, medical, etc.)Experience with RF communications hardware, including transceivers, low noise amplifiers (LNA), and antennasBase Pay Range for:WA applicants is $107,136.00 - $149,990.40Other site ranges may differCulture StatementDon’t meet all desired requirements?
