Job summary

V2X is seeking a skilled hardware test professional to support new production and repair processes for military hardware. You will assist assemblers and inspectors on the production floor and help generate test procedures and process instructions with SME input.

Requirements include 5+ years in electronics, strong bench-testing skills, and ability to read schematics and drawings. US citizenship with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance is needed; willingness to travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of electronics experience.
  • Experience with bench test equipment (DMM, Oscilloscope, Function/Signal Generators, Spectrum Analyzer, Network Analyzer).
  • Ability to read and generate schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • HW/SW integration experience and test process know-how.
  • Configuration management practices understanding.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • US Citizen with ability to obtain Secret Clearance.
  • Willing to travel up to some travel if required.
  • Able to work on production floor and generate technical documents with SME support.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities will include supporting implementation of new production and repair processes for military hardware, providing technical support for assemblers and inspectors working on the production floor, and assisting in the generation of technical documents, such as test procedures and process instructions, with the support of subject matter experts.

Qualifications
Required Skills
  • Minimum 5 years of electronics experience with strong technical background
  • High degree of experience/familiarity using bench top test equipment (DMM, Oscilloscope, Function Generator, Signal Generator, Frequency Counter, Power Meter, Spectrum Analyzer, Network Analyzer)
  • Comfortable using basic hand tools used for most repairs
  • Advanced ability in reading and generating schematics and mechanical drawings
  • Proven ability and willingness to use analytical tools to analyze and simulate hardware testing methods prior to program execution
  • High degree of experience/familiarity with HW/SW integration and test processes and procedures
  • Advanced MS office skills (Word, Excel, Visio, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to interface with persons of multiple disciplines and job functions, including test software engineers, electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, program managers, production personnel, and outside vendors
  • Ability to work in a process-oriented organization
  • Ability to understand and utilize configuration management practices
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and apply decision making skills with minimal supervision
  • Detail oriented, organized, self-starting, capable of multi-tasking, and team player are all required skills for this role
  • This position requires the ability to access systems that contain information restricted to US Citizens based on certain Federal Government contractual requirements
  • Some travel may be required
  • Must be a US Citizen with active US Government Secret Security Clearance or ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
Desired Skills
  • Programming experience with C++, C#, PowerShell, and Visual Basic are strongly desired
  • Programming experience with other languages in general is a plus
  • Experience working with microcontrollers is a strong plus
  • Experience with various communications protocols (e.g., RS-232, GPIB, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, etc.) is a strong plus
  • Experience in test automation is strongly desired
  • Background in digital, analog, and RF theory is a strong plus
  • Experience with high-end, commercial test equipment and techniques (e.g., Teradyne, DITMCO, RF Range testing, EMI/EMC testing, etc.) is a strong plus
  • Experience with additive manufacturing (3D printing) is a plus
  • Experience with environmental testing equipment and procedures is a plus
  • Strong problem-solving skills with ability to proactively identify alternate solutions to overcome difficult technical challenges
  • Proven ability to decompose product requirements to test requirements, and ability to properly trace requirements to a test procedure or test system specification is a strong plus
  • Proven ability to function as a Test Lead is a plus
  • Advanced degree is a plus
Education Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a closely related STEM field (experience in lieu of degree acceptable)
