Job summary

BCT LLC is seeking a Test Engineer 3 in Annapolis Junction, MD. The ideal candidate must possess an active TS/SCI with POLY, and be able to support both software and hardware testing across agile teams.

The role includes designing testing postures and frameworks at a macro level, while supporting micro-level testing activities. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, create automated test frameworks for applications and REST APIs, develop test cases, report defects, and verify fixes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; 8 years of experience required.
• If degree is not STEM, total 13 years experience in Testing required.
• Experience designing automated test frameworks from scratch.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional agile teams to understand project requirements and user stories.
• Design and prototype automated test frameworks for applications and REST APIs.
• Analyze requirements and generate test use cases.
• Identify, analyze and report defects; verify fixes.
• Perform manual testing when necessary to supplement automation.
• Participate in sprint planning, daily standups, demos, and retrospectives.

Role Description

The candidate will be a dedicated tester with experience in both the Software and Hardware worlds A tester in this role will enable other test teams and testing activities by designing testing posturesframeworks at a macro level and supporting work performed at the micro level Members of this team will get a broad spectrum of the entire effort and help drive testing design improvements

• Collaborate with cross functional agile teams to understand project requirements and user stories
• Understand HW Intricacies to help prioritize testing based on risks
• Design and prototype automated test frameworks for applications and REST APIs
• Analyze requirements and generate test use cases
• Identify analyze and report defects
• Verify fixes and track issues to resolution
• Perform manual testing when necessary to supplement automated testing efforts
• Participate in sprint planning daily stand up meetings sprint demos and retrospectives

Qualification

Qualification requirements include Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field or equivalent experience with 8 years of experienceIf the degree is not in the STEM field must have an additional 5 years of Testing for a total of 13 years

Familiarity with programming languages such as Python Java or CComfortable with LinuxUnix command line interface and command executionExperience designing and developing automated test frameworks from scratch

Desired skills

• Familiarity with Hardware and how it influences Software configurationperformance
• Familiarity with modern test automation tools and libraries eg Selenium SOAPUI Python
• Familiarity with debugging mechanisms across various languages
• Familiarity with Container technologies eg Docker Podman and orchestration technologies eg RKE2
• Understanding of software configuration management practices and CVCD tools eg GitLab Jenkins
• Solid understanding of Scrum and agile methodologies
• Experience creating user stories and defining acceptance criteria
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision
• Ability to analyze requirements and create detailed test cases
• Knowledge of JIRA or similar tools for tracking issues and managing tasks
• Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Self motivated and able to work effectively both independently and in a team
