Job summary

Butler America Aerospace, LLC. is seeking a Test Engineer for the 2nd shift in Windsor Locks, CT.

The role focuses on hands-on technical support for equipment installation, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and field operations in Space Systems projects. The candidate will design and implement test processes, develop tooling concepts, and author procedures to ensure safe, efficient operation aligned with engineering and customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience with advanced instrumentation and data acquisition systems is required.
• Knowledge of LabVIEW desired.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain test processes for Space Systems hardware.
• Support laboratory testing of Space Station hardware.
• Develop and validate tooling concepts.
• Author and maintain operation/test procedures.
• Prepare standardized operation/test sheets.
• Define test rig and facility requirements.
• Participate on program Integrated Product Development teams.
• Review drawings and concepts; resolve producibility concerns.

Pay Range: $38-43
12 month contract

Description: The Test Engineer provides hands on technical support for equipment installation, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and field operations. This role performs verification and functional testing, diagnoses issues on site, supports system upgrades, and ensures equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in accordance with engineering and customer requirements.

Primary Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain test processes for Space Systems hardware using lean philosophies and techniques.

Typical Duties

• Support laboratory testing of Space Station hardware
• Develop and validate tooling concepts
• Author and maintain operation/test procedures
• Preparation of standardized operation/test sheets
• Defining test rig and facility requirements
• Participation on program Integrated Product Development teams
• Review drawings and concepts
• and resolve producibility concerns

Experience with advanced instrumentation and data acquisition systems is required. Knowledge of LabVIEW desired. Experience should include testing of complex mechanical systems, testing of components such as, heat exchangers, pumps, fans, & accumulators. Applicant must have the capability of working independently and be self-motivated. Excellent communication skills, written and verbal are required.
