BRC was founded in 1986 by Dr. James V. (Jim) Benedict, a physician with a PhD in Mechanical Engineering. The focus of BRC at that time was to retrospectively analyze automotive collisions, determine the application of the collision’s forces to the vehicle occupants, and determine the injury consequences.
