Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) seeks a Test Engineer I or II based in Aiken, SC, to plan, develop, and execute testing activities ensuring safe, reliable systems in line with NQA-1 and DOE requirements. You will analyze results, support risk assessments, and help with verification, validation, and calibration tasks.

The role supports startup and commissioning programs, vendor testing, and procedure updates while contributing to continuous improvement across testing processes.

Qualifications

Job description

Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) is seeking a Test Engineer I or II to be based in our Aiken, SC location on the Savannah River Site.
The Test Engineer in the Startup & Testing group plans, develops, and executes testing activities to ensure systems and equipment perform safely, reliably, and in compliance with regulatory and NQA 1 requirements. Analyze results, resolve technical issues, and support risk assessments, configuration management, and verification and validation efforts. Contributes to startup and commissioning programs, vendor testing, procedure development, and continuous improvement across testing processes.
Responsibilities at the Test Engineer I level

• Learns facility systems, testing principles, work control processes, NQA-1, NRC, DOE, and OSHA requirements to effectively perform assignments
• Assists with test plans and schedules
• Drafts portions of procedures under supervision
• Performs testing under moderate supervision
• Collects and records test data
• Participates in hazard reviews
• Understands and applies lockout/tagout and work control requirements
• Supports verification activities
• Understands configuration control requirements
• Assists with calibration activities
• Escalates technical issues
• Understands and applies quality documentation requirements
• Supports startup testing activities
• Participates in audits
• Assists with vendor testing activities
• Assists with procedure updates

Additional Responsibilities at the Test Engineer II level

• Demonstrates working knowledge of facility systems, testing methods, instrumentation, and regulatory requirements
• Develops test plans, TACs, GTDs, BODs, and testing schedules
• Independently develops and revises test procedures
• Independently executes component and system tests
• Evaluates test data and identifies deficiencies
• Supports MSAs, FSAs, PHAs, and risk assessments
• Implements safe testing practices and pre-job briefings
• Executes verification and validation testing
• Verifies testing aligns with approved design documents
• Calibrates and troubleshoots instrumentation
• Investigates and resolves test discrepancies
• Ensures assigned testing activities comply with regulations
• Implements NQA-1 controls during testing activities
• Independently executes startup and commissioning tests
• Supports internal and external assessments
• Coordinates vendor testing and acceptance activities
• Supports operations and maintenance training
• Leads small testing teams
• Manages testing scope for assigned projects
• Other duties as assigned
• Bachelor's degree or High school diploma, with relevant work experience
