Job summary

ConRes Continental Resources in Exeter, NH is seeking a Test Engineer to design, develop, program, implement, and maintain automated test equipment for power supplies and related electronics.

You will collaborate with design and manufacturing teams, develop test procedures, validate products, troubleshoot equipment, and support legacy fixtures while driving continuous improvement in testing efficiency and quality.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of four years of experience in a test engineering or electronic testing environment.
  • Experience testing electronic products, preferably power supplies or power conversion equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain test fixtures for new and existing products.
  • Create and program automated test equipment (ATE) and test procedures for power supply testing.
  • Develop test profiles and automated test programs based on product specifications and requirements.
  • Collaborate with Design Engineers to ensure accurate and efficient test methodologies for new product development.
  • Perform validation and verification testing of power supplies and electronic assemblies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to test equipment, fixtures, and automated test programs.
  • Review, update, and maintain test fixtures and software programs for legacy products.
  • Analyze test data and provide recommendations for product and process improvements.
  • Support manufacturing and quality teams with product testing, failure analysis, and corrective actions.

Job Description

Position Summary

The Test Engineer is responsible for the design, development, programming, implementation, and maintenance of automated test equipment and test fixtures used in the testing of power supplies and related electronic products. This role works closely with design and manufacturing teams to develop test procedures, create automated test programs, and ensure product quality through effective testing processes. The Test Engineer also supports existing products by maintaining and improving legacy test fixtures and programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain test fixtures for new and existing products.
  • Create and program automated test equipment (ATE) and test procedures for power supply testing.
  • Develop test profiles and automated test programs based on product specifications and requirements.
  • Collaborate with Design Engineers to ensure accurate and efficient test methodologies for new product development.
  • Perform validation and verification testing of power supplies and electronic assemblies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to test equipment, fixtures, and automated test programs.
  • Review, update, and maintain test fixtures and software programs for legacy products.

  • Maintain documentation related to test procedures, fixture designs, and testing methodologies.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance testing efficiency, reliability, and product quality.
  • Work collaboratively with electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and quality engineering teams.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong understanding of electronic test equipment including:
    • Oscilloscopes
    • Electronic loads
    • Power meters
    • Power supplies
    • Data acquisition and measurement systems
  • Ability to design, build, and troubleshoot test fixtures.
  • Working knowledge of electrical and electronic principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to learn and utilize programming languages for automated testing applications.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional engineering teams.
