Job Title: Test Engineer

Location: Schriever Space Force Base, CO - Colorado Springs, CO (Onsite)

Overview

Canvas is seeking an Advanced Analyst level Test Engineer to support Command and Control, Battle Management and Communication engineering and execution for the Missile Defense Agency's (MDA) Directorate of Test (DT). At Canvas, we are at the forefront of new missile defense technologies and engage with the MDA's rigorous operational and developmental testing. This work helps guarantee the security of the United States and our Allies. Join a professional team of highly qualified engineers, analysts, scientists and technicians supporting the research, development, testing and evaluation of the missile defense system whose purpose is to detect, track, engage, and destroy adversary missiles.

Duties

This position serves as part of the Command and Control, Battle Management and Communication (C2BMC) Test Directorate (BCT) for system level testing by solving complex problems involving all phases of the test life cycle to include test planning and system level analysis. Tasks will include:

  • Provide expertise and guidance relevant to program analytical principles and practices for developmental and operational programs
  • Provide initial draft documentation, assist with external stakeholder coordination, and assist with the integration of products and requirements across the cyber test event life cycle in accordance with the Ground and Flight Test CONOPS
  • Participate in concept planning; design and development; integration, testing, and verification at the MDS system, element or component level
  • Manage information on SharePoint, document configuration control, document/data archival
  • Support test execution in accordance with DoD policies
  • Participate in working groups, peer reviews, and other technical meetings
Requirements
  • Master of Arts or Master of Science with 10+ years of relevant experience (A BA/BS with five years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for the MA/MS degree requirement)
  • Experience in development, execution and evaluation of cyber testing
  • Experience working in a fast paced, professional environment with the ability to adjust/react to short notice requirements
  • Proficient with the MS Office suite of tools
  • Capable of working as a team member to solve engineering problems
  • Works as a member of team to solve test planning, integration execution, and analysis problems
  • Knowledge of Missile Defense System components and system-level
Desired Qualifications
  • Master of Arts or Master of Science
  • In depth knowledge of the Missile Defense System (MDS) capability
  • Understanding of how cybersecurity threats can impact the MDS mission
  • Extensive experience in developing system level test and evaluation plans
  • In depth knowledge of the MDA requirements process
  • In depth knowledge of MDA test planning and execution
  • In depth knowledge of MDS architecture and interoperability
  • Proficiency with Windows-based PC software (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, MS Teams)
  • Experience with MDASim, EADSIM, Linux OS, PiNT, Operational System Framework (OSF), Open Systems Architecture Sensor Models (OSM)
  • Experience with DoD test processes and/or test execution
Security Clearance

Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
