DANE LLC is seeking a junior to mid-level Test Engineer to join an agile QA team in Chantilly, VA. You will design, implement, and maintain automated test suites for APIs and UIs across .NET, Java, Node/NestJS, and MuleSoft, with containerized execution in Docker/Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field required.
• Active DoD Secret Clearance required.
• 4+ years of Test Engineer experience.
• 3+ years with .NET, Java, MuleSoft.
• Experience with Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions, Docker, Kubernetes.
• Experience with Selenium/Cypress, Postman/Newman, JUnit/NUnit/Jest.
• Strong verbal and written communication; collaboration with dev teams.
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly.

Responsibilities

• Build maintainable automation for functional, regression, and smoke suites for web UIs and REST APIs (Selenium/Cypress, Postman/Newman, JUnit/NUnit/Jest).
• Automate tests for service contracts, error handling, and data transformations; verify MuleSoft flows across layers.
• Author test runners and Dockerfiles; run suites in Docker and Kubernetes jobs.
• Integrate tests into CI/CD (Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions); gate builds by quality thresholds.
• Capture logs/traces (OpenTelemetry/App Insights); attach artifacts and triage failures.
• Create deterministic test data, stubs/mocks, and environment configs; manage secrets.
• Log, reproduce, and validate fixes; document steps and evidence.
• Maintain test plans, suites, and dashboards; publish sprint quality reports.

Role Summary

We are seeking a junior to mid‑level Test Engineer to join an agile quality engineering team, modernizing legacy applications into secure, scalable services. You will design, implement, and maintain automated test suites for APIs, UIs, and integrations across .NET, Java, Node/NestJS, and MuleSoft—with execution in containerized environments (Docker/Kubernetes). You’ll learn modern QA practices, CI/CD, observability, and secure testing workflows while collaborating closely with developers, BAs, and platform engineers.

Responsibilities

• Build maintainable automation for functional, regression, and smoke suites targeting web UIs and REST APIs (Selenium/Cypress, Postman/Newman, JUnit/NUnit/Jest).
• Automate tests for service contracts, error handling, and data transformations; verify MuleSoft flows across System/API/Process layers.
• Author test runners and Dockerfiles; execute suites inside Docker and assist in Kubernetes job orchestration for parallel runs.
• Integrate tests into CI/CD (Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions), gate builds via quality thresholds (coverage, static analysis, linting) and contribute to pull‑request checks.
• Capture structured logs/traces (OpenTelemetry/App Insights), attach artifacts, triage failures, and drive root‑cause analysis with engineers.
• Create deterministic test data, stubs/mocks, and environment configs; manage secrets securely and ensure test repeatability.
• Log, prioritize, and validate fixes using Azure DevOps/Jira; provide crisp reproduction steps and supporting evidence.
• Maintain living test plans, suites, and dashboards; publish sprint quality reports and release readiness summaries.

Requirements

• Must have a bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
• Must have an Active DOD Secret Clearance.
• Minimum of 4+ Years of experience as a Test Engineer.
• Minimum of 3+ years’ experience with .NET, Java, MuleSoft.
• Must have some experience with .NET, Java, Node/NestJS, and MuleSoft applications.
• Experience with Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Selenium/Cypress, Postman/Newman, JUnit/NUnit/Jest.
• Must have exceptional ability to break down complex situations and identify root causes for both technical and process‑related issues.
• Must have strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to articulate technical concepts to non‑technical users and collaborate effectively with development teams.
• Must have the proven ability to quickly learn new technologies and apply skills in evolving technical environments.
