Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Semiconductor Test Engineer to lead validation and qualification of client products from concept to production release. Based in Austin, TX, you will define validation criteria, build test strategies, and ensure replacements meet electrical, thermal, mechanical, and reliability requirements.

You will develop ATE programs, analyze data, and drive qualification of new releases while collaborating with Design Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 7+ years of semiconductor test engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of ATE platforms (Teradyne, Advantest, or equivalent).
• Experience with characterization, reliability, and production test.
• Familiarity with JEDEC, MIL-STD-883, AEC-Q100/Q101, or similar standards.
• Experience analyzing large data sets using Python, MATLAB, JMP, or similar tools.
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
• US Citizen must be able to obtain a US security clearance.

• Serve as the technical authority for product validation.
• Expand automated testing capabilities.

Job description

We're looking for an experienced Senior Semiconductor Test Engineer to lead the validation and qualification of our products from concept through production release. If you enjoy solving difficult technical problems, building test strategies from the ground up, and working across engineering disciplines, we'd like to talk with you. As our senior test engineer, you'll define how every product is validated before it reaches our customers. You'll work closely with design engineering, quality, manufacturing, and supply chain to develop qualification strategies, analyze performance data, and ensure every replacement device meets electrical, thermal, mechanical, and reliability requirements. This is a highly visible role where you'll help establish the testing processes and standards that support the future growth of the company.

The client develops replacement semiconductor components for legacy and discontinued chips, helping companies in defense, aerospace, industrial, and other critical industries extend the life of their products without expensive redesigns. Based in Austin, TX, they provide domestically manufactured, drop-in replacement solutions for hard-to-source electronic components.

This is a full-time opportunity with a salary range estimated between $150K-$180K (depending on experience). This role will be onsite 5 days a week at the Austin facility.
