Job summary

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (OTS) is seeking a Quality/Testing professional to develop and implement process controls, testing procedures, and inspection methods to ensure defect-free products. You will design testing equipment, analyze data, and drive corrective actions to minimize failures.

Collaborating with internal teams and suppliers, you will contribute to quality improvement programs and ensure compliance with industry standards across our munition and energetics

Qualifications

  • Required education and experience: Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 2-5 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education / or Experience

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements methods and procedures for process control, testing and inspection to ensure products are free of flaws and function as designed.
  • Designs and installs testing equipment and performs product testing and analysis to maintain quality levels and minimize defects.
  • Analyzes reports and defective products to determine trends and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborates with supplier representatives on quality problems and contributes to supplier quality improvement programs

Job Summary
  • Develops and implements methods and procedures for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection to ensure that the products are free of flaws and function as designed
  • Designs and installs sophisticated testing equipment and performs product testing and analysis to maintain quality levels and minimize defects and failure rates
  • Analyzes reports and defective products to determine trends and recommend corrective actions
  • Collaborates with supplier representatives on quality problems, ensures that effective corrective actions are implemented and contributes to supplier quality improvement programs

  • Requires working knowledge and skills to perform a defined set of analytical scientific or operational processes
  • Applies experience and skills to complete assigned work within own area of expertise
  • Works within standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods
  • Works with a moderate degree of supervision
  • Performs manual tasks according to established procedures
Essential Functions
  • Performs standard testing processes on a variety of equipment and records and analyzes results.
  • Records data from testing in standard formats and provides results to product and engineering teams.
  • Assists technical teams with recommendations to resolve testing problems, roadblocks or equipment malfunctions that impact the performance or validity of testing.
  • Requires knowledge of industry specific tests and testing equipment.
Required Qualifications
  • Required education and experience: Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 2-5 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferred education and experience: Associate's Degree
  • Discipline/Major: Technical Training Preferred
  • Knowledge, skills & abilities: Engineering Support. Test Execution. Industry Standards. Test Documentation. Test Equipment.
Physical Requirements
  • Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
  • Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
  • May need to stand for long periods of time.
  • Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
  • May be requested to work a different shift.
  • Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required.
  • This position is Safety-Sensitive.
