Position Overview
Kett Engineering is accepting applications and pre‑qualifying candidates to be test drivers/Technical Specialists on both the 1st & 2nd shift. Successful candidates will be up-to-date on the workings of the in‑cab technology that comes in new, high‑end vehicles. This program works with our customer, a prestigious German automobile manufacturer, in an automotive testing / research and development program in Carson, CA.
Job Summary and General Purpose
Test Driver follows the direction of Lead Driver and/or Project Coordinator, performs various driving services on vehicles per shift according to customer specifications, and represents Kett in a professional manner.
Schedule
- Monday – Friday
- 1st shift: 6:00am to 2:30pm
- 2nd shift: 3:30pm to 12:00am
- Required to work the 1st week of training on the 1st shift
Essential Functions
- Demonstrate ability to drive all schedules certified on, with complete schedule integrity and consistently.
- Test vehicle infotainment systems.
- Prepare accurate driver reports and other records on a daily basis, documenting observations in a clear and concise manner.
- Perform related driving/vehicle prep work as assigned (e.g., tire changes).
- Assist with training of drivers.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications
- Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Tech savvy with knowledge and experience with vehicle infotainment systems.
- Minimum of 4 years of licensed driving experience and a current operator’s license.
- Clean driving record with no points, moving violations or at‑fault accidents.
- Highly proficient in driving a manual transmission vehicle.
- Physical requirement: lift up to 50pounds; sit, stand, bend for approximately 6‑8hours daily.
- Must pass a drug screen and background check.
