Job Location: Carson Office – Carson, CA 90746. Position Type: Full-Time/Part-Time. Education Level: High School. Salary Range: $19.50 - $19.50 Hourly. Job Category: Automotive.

Position Overview

Kett Engineering is accepting applications and pre‑qualifying candidates to be test drivers/Technical Specialists on both the 1st & 2nd shift. Successful candidates will be up-to-date on the workings of the in‑cab technology that comes in new, high‑end vehicles. This program works with our customer, a prestigious German automobile manufacturer, in an automotive testing / research and development program in Carson, CA.

Job Summary and General Purpose

Test Driver follows the direction of Lead Driver and/or Project Coordinator, performs various driving services on vehicles per shift according to customer specifications, and represents Kett in a professional manner.

Schedule
  • Monday – Friday
  • 1st shift: 6:00am to 2:30pm
  • 2nd shift: 3:30pm to 12:00am
  • Required to work the 1st week of training on the 1st shift
Essential Functions
  • Demonstrate ability to drive all schedules certified on, with complete schedule integrity and consistently.
  • Test vehicle infotainment systems.
  • Prepare accurate driver reports and other records on a daily basis, documenting observations in a clear and concise manner.
  • Perform related driving/vehicle prep work as assigned (e.g., tire changes).
  • Assist with training of drivers.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications
  • Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Tech savvy with knowledge and experience with vehicle infotainment systems.
  • Minimum of 4 years of licensed driving experience and a current operator’s license.
  • Clean driving record with no points, moving violations or at‑fault accidents.
  • Highly proficient in driving a manual transmission vehicle.
  • Physical requirement: lift up to 50pounds; sit, stand, bend for approximately 6‑8hours daily.
  • Must pass a drug screen and background check.
