Job summary

StandardAero in the United States is seeking a Test Cell Operator/Technician to conduct performance testing on gas turbine engines and support panel and LRU installations. The role involves testing, inspections, troubleshooting, and preparation of engines for testing in a safety‑conscious environment.

Candidates should have aviation maintenance experience, ITAR eligibility, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

  • 3 years aviation maintenance experience.
  • Must meet ITAR requirements (U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct performance testing on gas turbine engines across multiple Jet Engine platforms.
  • Perform inspections and operational tests on military and commercial gas turbine engines.
  • Troubleshoot, adjust, and replace engine components to meet performance standards.
  • Interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics to determine proper operating conditions.
  • Assist in the preparation and de-preparation of engines for testing.
  • Inspect engine components prior to installation.
  • Work independently and as a team to achieve maximum quality.
  • Complete relevant paperwork to ensure accuracy.
  • Observe all applicable safety practices and aviation regulations.
  • Perform additional tasks as required to meet operational and business needs.

As a Test Cell Operator / Technician, you will have the opportunity to conduct performance testing on gas turbine engines across multiple Jet Engine platforms using specialized mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems. Responsibilities include performance testing of engines, installing and removing test equipment before testing and after preservation, troubleshooting engine systems, and removing/installing selected Line Replaceable Units (LRUs). You may also assist with Service After Test (SAT), borescope inspections, and engine preparation for shipment.

Seeking candidates available to work following shifts:

Weekend Shift: 5am - 5pm Fri, Sat, Sun or 5pm - 5am Fri, Sat, Sun

2nd Shift: 4pm - 230am Monday - Thursday

What you'll do:
  • Conduct performance testing on gas turbine engines across multiple Jet Engine platforms

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 3 years aviation maintenance experience.
  • Must meet ITAR requirements (U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Desired Characteristics:
  • 2-year previous test cell experience running military or commercial engines
  • FAA Powerplant Certification is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of aviation regulations, manuals, and inspection procedures.
  • Apprenticeship, formal training, or equivalent hands‑on experience preferred.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and blueprints.
  • Exceptional time management skills in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions with precision.
