Job summary

RiseMe is seeking a Test Automation Intern to help maintain and modernize our Selenium-based automation framework built with C#, Visual Studio, and SpecFlow/Reqnroll. Under guidance, you will review existing code, add new automation, run tests, and document results while supporting framework upgrades and related testing initiatives.

You will collaborate with developers, Product Owners, Scrum Teams, and end users to understand requirements, execute test plans, and communicate progress.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Develop, modify, and execute automated tests using Selenium and C#, including adding new automation code.
• Review test results, identify failures, document issues, and escalate variances.
• Assess user stories for testability and update automation to support requirements.
• Refactor initialization logic and remove duplicate or outdated code.
• Support Salesforce test-automation migration efforts.
• Assist with upgrading Selenium framework to newer .NET versions.
• Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to understand requirements and communicate findings.

Purpose

The Test Automation Specialist Intern supports the maintenance and modernization of our Selenium-based automation framework built with C#, Visual Studio, and SpecFlow/Reqnroll. With guidance, the intern reviews and modifies existing code, adds new test-automation code, executes automated tests, analyzes and documents results, and assists with framework upgrades, Salesforce automation migration, and other application-development initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• With guidance, develops, modifies, and executes automated tests using Selenium and C#, including adding new automation code and improving the structure and maintainability of the existing framework.
• Reviews automated test results, compares outcomes with previous runs, and identifies, investigates, documents, and escalates failures, regressions, or unexpected variances.
• Reviews user stories and acceptance criteria for testability and creates or updates automation to support approved requirements.
• Reviews and refactors initialization logic and identifies and removes duplicate, unused, or outdated code.
• Supports Salesforce test-automation migration efforts.
• May assist with upgrading the Selenium automation framework from SpecFlow to Reqnroll and to newer .NET framework versions.
• May help research and configure Outlook on the web to support testing and analysis of emails generated by automated tests.
• Collaborates with developers, Product Owners, Scrum Teams, and end users to understand requirements, run test plans and scripts, and communicate progress and findings.
• Documents testing activities, code changes, findings, and open questions clearly while following coding standards and maintaining traceability in Azure DevOps or similar tools.
• Executes manual testing when requested and tracks and reports identified issues.

Qualifications

Knowledge

• Understanding of the application development lifecycle and the role of quality assurance throughout planning, development, testing, release, and maintenance.
• Basic to intermediate C# programming knowledge and familiarity with Visual Studio.
• Exposure to Selenium WebDriver or other automated testing tools.
• Basic understanding of .NET and application framework upgrades.
• Ability to read, troubleshoot, refactor, and clean up an existing codebase.

SkillsRequired

• Experience testing web-based applications.
• Working knowledge and understanding of fundamental concepts of CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery), Automated Testing (GUI, database, and service), User Acceptance Testing.
• Understanding of object-oriented programming concepts.
• Ability to apply foundational C# programming and object-oriented concepts when reviewing, modifying, and troubleshooting code in Visual Studio.

Preferred

• Interest in test automation, QA processes, and application development.
• Exposure to Selenium WebDriver or another test-automation framework.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps or a similar Agile project-management tool.
• Familiarity with SpecFlow, Reqnroll, Gherkin, or BDD (behavior driven development) concepts and the use of Gherkin scenarios in test-automation.
• Basic knowledge of .NET and framework modernization.
• Exposure to Salesforce, LambdaTest/TestMu, and automated testing tools.
• Experience with Cucumber and behavior driven development of automated testing, including Gherkin.
• Experience with version control systems (Git)
• Experience with SQL or an understanding of relational databases is preferred
• Knowledge or experience with Load and performance testing.
• Experience using AI-assisted coding and test-automation tools, such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar platforms.

Education

• Must have or must be pursuing a four-year college level education, or equivalent combination of education, experience and formal training in IT or a related field. Must be in good academic standing with applicable college institution.

Experience

• Coursework, projects, or practical experience with C#, Visual Studio, object-oriented programming, software testing, application development, or testing methodologies is preferred.
