Job summary

TalentHop is seeking an Automation Test Engineer to design and implement test automation strategies for AWS-based environments supporting US federal government projects. The role ensures quality across UI, API, databases and cloud services, and reinforces CI/CD processes.

The engineer will develop automated test frameworks, perform end-to-end and performance testing in cloud environments, and collaborate with Agile teams to embed testing in development cycles.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch, KeySpaces, EMR and Batch Jobs.
• Proficiency with automation tools like Playwright, Postman and RestAssured.
• Scripting in Python, Java or Bash.
• Experience with GitLab, Docker, CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
• Experience testing microservices architectures.
• Strong test data management and environment setup.
• Knowledge of API contract testing, database validation and auth testing.
• Excellent documentation and defect-tracking skills.

About the Opportunity:

The AUTOMATION TEST ENGINEER role involves developing and executing test automation strategies in AWS-based environments. This position is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of software systems through comprehensive testing across user interfaces, APIs, databases, and cloud services. The role supports continuous integration and delivery processes and contributes to building automated testing frameworks that improve efficiency and accuracy.

Pay Range and Compensation Package:

• The pay range for this role in specified states is $81,000 to $134,400 USD
