Job summary

IonQ in Pleasanton, CA, seeks a DevOps-focused engineer to support code development and automated hardware testing for Vector Atomic quantum devices. You will work with physicists, electronics engineers, and firmware engineers to build next-generation quantum instruments.

You will set up CI/CD pipelines, write Python automation, and craft Docker images for development, testing and deployment. The role offers base compensation with bonus/equity and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in EE/CE/CS or equivalent with practical DevOps exposure.
• Hands-on lab/intern experience in DevOps or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Support code development and automated in-loop hardware testing.
• Collaborate with physicists, electronics engineers, and firmware engineers to design next-gen quantum instruments.
• Set up CI/CD pipelines and test server racks for devices-under-test (DUTs).
• Create and maintain Python automation scripts for DUTs and test equipment.
• Create and configure Docker images for development, testing and deployment.
• Assist with board testing and hardware bring-up with hardware engineers.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of development process efficiency.

The Role

Vector Atomic is building quantum devices for applications including GPS-free navigation and timing, geophysical exploration, and telecommunications. We are focused on delivering near-term products that take advantage of the exquisite properties of quantum systems. Responsibilities

• Support code development efforts and automated in-loop hardware testing.
• Work with a cross-functional team of physicists, electronics engineers, and firmware engineers to create next-generation quantum instruments.
• Set up CI/CD pipelines and test server racks for devices-under-test (DUTs).
• Create and maintain automation scripts in Python for interfacing with DUTs and test equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, etc.)
• Create and configure Docker images for development, testing and deployment.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers and assist with board testing and hardware bring up.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of our development process efficiency.

Requirements

• Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering/Computer Science Graduate, BS/MS
• Degree with substantial course/lab/intern working in DevOps or other technical degrees

The total compensation package includes base, bonus, equity, and a range of benefit options found on our career site.

If this role has a commission structure, the compensation range below just reflects the base compensation range.

Wage Transparency

$1 - $1 USD

Compensation will vary based on individual factors such as education, qualifications, and experience of the final candidate(s), specific office location, and calibration against relevant market data and internal team equity. Posted base salary figures are subject to change as new market data becomes available.
