Job summary

Saige Partners in Champaign, IL seeks a Test Automation Engineer to own testing projects and quality assurance, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable software solutions. This onsite role offers a base salary target of $95k–$125k, negotiable based on experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related field.
  • Experience programming in at least one modern object-oriented language such as C#, Java, or Python.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify practical, business-focused solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally with both clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Passion for technology and continuous learning in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Ability to balance technical excellence with practical business outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage technical testing projects and quality assurance initiatives from planning through execution.
  • Design, develop, and maintain testing processes that improve software quality, reliability, and performance.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to understand business requirements and translate them into comprehensive testing strategies.
  • Analyze existing systems and processes, identifying opportunities for improvement through automation, innovation, and continuous process enhancement.
  • Exercise sound judgment to understand business needs beyond documented requirements and proactively recommend solutions.
  • Partner with development, product, and business teams to deliver high-quality software that meets business objectives.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, testing methodologies, and industry best practices to continuously improve quality and efficiency.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives that enhance software delivery, testing effectiveness, and operational excellence.
  • Clearly communicate testing results, risks, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Test Automation Engineer (Champaign, IL)
Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated Test Automation Engineer to join our technology team. In this role, you will take ownership of technical testing projects and quality assurance processes while working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, reliable software solutions. You will play a key role in improving testing strategies, enhancing development processes, and ensuring software quality by understanding business objectives and translating them into effective testing solutions. This is a direct-hire position.

Key Responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with software testing methodologies, automation frameworks, or quality assurance processes.
  • Familiarity with Agile software development practices.
  • Experience working on cross-functional technology projects.
  • Degree from a highly regarded university, ideally with strong academic performance.

This is an onsite position based out of Champaign, IL, ideally targeting $95k-$125k/base (negotiable based on experience).
