Job summary

UST is seeking a Test Architect to define the enterprise test automation architecture and roadmap across programs and lines of business. You will lead end-to-end QE strategy, drive automation, and partner with Architecture, DevOps, Product, and Delivery leadership to embed quality into CI/CD pipelines.

The role requires strong telecom domain knowledge, hands-on automation experience, and leadership in designing scalable testing frameworks using Selenium/Playwright, Tosca, and AI-enabled testing

Qualifications

  • Architecture & Framework DesignExpert: 8+ years.
  • Strong Telecom domain knowledge.
  • Automation: Selenium/Playwright, REST/API testing.
  • Hands-on: 8+ years.
  • Define enterprise automation frameworks with Test Grid and Tosca; Selenium/Java where needed.
  • Programming languages: Java/C#/TypeScript.
  • End-to-end automation across channels and middleware; SQL knowledge.
  • CI/CD & DevOps: Gitlab, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, JIRA, qTest.
  • Accessibility & AI/ML-based QE tools; GenAI for QE strategy.
  • Performance & non-functional testing strategy; stakeholder leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Establish QE strategy end to end—shift-left, in-sprint automation, data management, environment/CI/CD.
  • Evaluate, pilot, and adopt new tools; build-vs-buy decisions.
  • Define quality KPIs, coverage, and release-readiness governance.
  • Architect test execution across cloud, containers, and parallel/distributed runs.
  • Partner with Architecture, DevOps, Product, Delivery to embed quality in CI/CD.
  • Mentor QE leads and engineers; perform design/code/architecture reviews.
  • Lead root-cause analysis for telecom-critical systems; risk assessment and resolution.
  • Drive telecom domain solutioning across modules.
  • Oversee Test Automation Architecture & Framework.

You Are

UST is searching for a Test Architect who will define the enterprise test automation architecture, strategy, and roadmap across programs and lines of business.

The Opportunity
  • Establish the QE strategy end to end — shift-left, in-sprint automation, test-data management, centralized reporting, and environment/CI-CD strategy
  • Evaluate, pilot, and adopt emerging tools and AI/ML-driven testing solutions; own build-vs-buy and tooling decisions
  • Define quality KPIs, coverage and release-readiness metrics; drive continuous improvement and governance across teams
  • Architect the test execution ecosystem across cloud platforms, containers, and parallel/distributed execution
  • Partner with Architecture, DevOps, Product, and Delivery leadership to embed quality into design and CI/CD pipelines
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to QE leads and engineers; conduct design, code, and architecture reviews and uphold QE governance
  • Lead root-cause analysis, risk assessment, and resolution for high-impact, Telecom-critical systems

What You Need
  • Architecture & Framework Design Expert: 8+ years
  • Strong Telecom domain knowledge
  • Automation: Selenium / Playwright, REST / APIExpert

  • Test Architect responsible for defining and enhancing enterprise automation frameworks with Test Grid(future preferred tool) and Tosca (existing), along with Selenium/Java where needed
  • Programming Language: Java / C# / TypeScript
  • Expert Hands-on: 7+ years
  • Design E2E automation across digital channels (Mobile, Web, API,bots) and middleware layers (Commerce, DAS Auth, DPS, Offers, Operations)SQL knowledge
  • Strong: 5+ years
  • Able to architect scalable automation for high-volume digital workflows and multi-system orchestration.
  • CI/CD & DevOps (Gitlab, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, JIRA, qTest)
  • Strong: 5+ years
  • Accessibility TestingAI/ML-based testing tools & GenAI for QE2-4 years QE strategy, governance, KPIs & test-data management
  • Expert Performance & non-functional testing strategy

Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.

$90,000-$135,000

Benefits

Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), 10 paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. They are eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as the following Company-paid Employee Only benefits: basic life insurance, accidental death and disability insurance, and short- and long-term disability benefits. Regular employees may purchase additional voluntary short-term disability benefits, and participate in a Health Savings Account (HSA) as well as a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for healthcare, dependent child care, and/or commuting expenses as allowable under IRS guidelines. Benefits offerings vary in Puerto Rico.

Part-time employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year) and are eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching.

Full-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year) and are eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) program with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance.

Part-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year).

All US employees who work in a state or locality with more generous paid sick leave benefits than specified here will receive the benefit of those sick leave laws.
