Job summary

Stadler is seeking a Test & Commissioning Engineer to ensure rail vehicles and CBTC-enabled systems perform safely and reliably before service. This hands-on role involves troubleshooting, validating test environments, and coordinating with engineering, production, quality, and customers.

Travel to project sites will be required as testing and commissioning activities unfold across North America. The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Systems

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering or related field.
  • Experience with testing, troubleshooting, commissioning, controls, automation, systems integration, or related technical disciplines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work independently and with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel as projects require.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute testing and commissioning activities for rail vehicles and systems.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues during testing and commissioning.
  • Analyze test results and document findings.
  • Verify system functionality, performance, and safety requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, quality, and customer teams.
  • Support vehicle validation and customer acceptance activities.
  • Travel to project sites as needed to support testing and commissioning efforts.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and system optimization.

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience with testing, troubleshooting, commissioning, controls, automation, systems integration, or related technical disciplines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Willingness to travel as projects require
  • Rail industry experience is a plus
