Zayo is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Test & Acceptance Specialist to join our team. The Test & Acceptance Specialist will be responsible for performing tests, analyzing data, and ensuring the proper functioning and quality of fiber optic systems. This role requires knowledge of fiber optic technology, testing equipment, and diagnostic techniques to assess network performance and troubleshoot issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyzing OSP dark fiber test data insertion loss, OTDR, power meter, FIP, CD & PMD in prepackaged detailed reports on the performance of fiber optic cables and networks. Identify potential issues, inefficiencies, or areas of improvement.

  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of test results, processes, and network performance. Prepare technical documentation for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, technicians, and project managers to ensure all fiber optic systems meet the required standards.

  • Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance of company standards, safety regulations, and best practices during testing and analysis.

  • Provides specialized telecommunications technical expertise.

  • Coordinates and facilitates with internal resources to effect the timely completion of projects.

  • Verify and update internal records to ensure network inventory.

  • Validating correct test settings like wavelength, test duration, and test method (e.g., OTDR, power meter) were used to meet customer contractual requirements.

  • Reviewing dark fiber performance to identify any potential issues with the system's integrity.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors’ Degree preferred.

  • Minimum of five (5) years in the telecommunications industry with outside plant, fiber optics, telecommunication architectures, optical transport equipment, and project management experience.

  • Must be conversant/have working knowledge of structured cabling, routing, switching, and IP protocols.

  • Must have four (4) years of experience with analyzing fiber optic test results; OTDR, OLTS, FIP, CD PMD.

  • Familiar with EXFO FastReporter, EXFO ConnectorMax, Viavi FiberCable2 Suite, Viavi FiberChekPRO, Anritsu NetWorks, Email, MS Excel, Word and Google Earth.

  • Must be able to understand and read construction documents.

Estimated Base Salary Range: $56,300 - $75,050 USD/annually.

The base pay range shown is a guideline and reasonable estimate for this role. It takes into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted range based upon geographic location, work experience, skill level, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Non- sales roles may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive plan. Sales roles may be eligible to participate in a sales incentive plan.

Additionally, this position may be eligible for certain benefits, such as health insurance, life insurance, disability retirement plans, paid time off.
