General Summary

This role involves providing training and development support to new 1099 sales managers and reps within a designated territory. Responsibilities include driving prospecting activities via call clinics, joint field work, and effective lead follow-up. The position also entails delivering classroom training to newly contracted managers and reps, contributing to territory goals related to recruiting, broker development, and portfolio management.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
In-Market Training — 75%
  • Lead onboarding of new sales managers and reps through demonstrations, coaching, role-playing, and understanding company value propositions and objection handling.
  • Drive territory prospecting activities by conducting joint field work, leading call clinics, and designing incentives to motivate prospecting.
  • Support development of unit-managers (ADM role) by setting activity expectations, conducting weekly coaching, and celebrating successes.
  • Promote effective use of the leads management system for tracking and coaching.
  • Complete certification of new managers in district development.
Classroom Training — 15%
  • Lead virtual and face-to-face training sessions using approved content, fostering engagement through interactive exercises and feedback.
  • Provide ongoing training through meetings, Lunch and Learns, and manager sessions.
  • Manage training logistics using the company training system.
Core Team Strategy & Communication — 10%
  • Serve as a Public Sector specialist.
  • Support broker rep development and product rollouts.
  • Participate in prospecting and recruiting events.
  • Act as a liaison between field sales and the Home Office.
  • Assist recruiting initiatives and perform other duties as assigned.
Job Specifications
Required:
  • Experience in training, development, and coaching.
  • Management experience or demonstrated coaching ability.
  • Sales experience with closing skills.
  • Insurance licensing or ability to obtain within 45 days.
  • Willingness to lead prospecting activities.
  • Leadership skills and ability to work independently.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 75%, including overnight stays.
Preferred:
  • College degree or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other tech platforms.
  • Experience in adult education and the voluntary benefits industry.
  • High energy and passion for the industry.
  • Experience with Colonial Life systems and working with independent contractors.
