Job description

As a Territory Sales Representative, you will educate clients, specify products, and visit engineers involved in the municipal water tank development and construction markets across New York State, Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. This role focuses on new business development within a territory-wide scope. It is a remote position requiring extensive travel and overnight stays. The base salary range is $150,000-$160,000.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

  • $150,000 - $160,000 Base Salary, Plus Bonuses

Our client designs, manufactures, installs, and maintains water towers. Founded in 1974 and headquartered in Dallas, Texas, it employs over 200 staff and is experiencing steady growth. Its clientele includes municipalities and counties across the U.S. and Canada. Recognized internationally, the company is in a high-growth phase.

OFFICE LOCATION & SALES TERRITORY:

  • This is a remote/field sales role
  • Territory includes New York, Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & BACKGROUND:

  • 5-10 years of sales experience
  • Experience in the water industry, especially in storage systems
  • Experience with valves, pumps, metering, or control systems is a plus
  • Experience working with engineering firms and delivering technical presentations

EDUCATION:

  • Post-secondary education

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Understanding of engineering and construction technical aspects related to sales

PRODUCT / SERVICE / SOLUTION:

  • Municipal Water Tank Development & Construction

SALES CYCLE & VALUE:

  • Sales cycle of 2-3 years
  • Project management typically less than a year
  • Average order size ranges from $1M to $10M

  • Developing sales strategies
  • Delivering presentations and speaking engagements
  • Attending trade shows like the Florida AWWA event

OVERNIGHT TRAVEL:

  • 25-50% overnight travel, approximately 5-10 days/month
