About the Role:

ProFarm is looking for a commercially driven agricultural professional to lead sales and market development across Iowa and the Western Corn Belt. In this role, you will own relationships with key growers, retailers, distributors, and market influencers while developing and executing a territory business plan designed to grow demand, increase market share, and deliver sales results.

This is a highly field-oriented role with a strong focus on building long-term customer relationships and creating demand for ProFarm's portfolio of biological products. You will spend significant time working directly with growers, retailers, PCAs, CCAs, and other key agricultural influencers, while partnering closely with internal Sales, Marketing, Product Development, Field Development, R&D, and administrative teams.

The ideal candidate understands row-crop agriculture and the agricultural marketplace across the Western Corn Belt, enjoys being in the field with customers, and can combine technical agricultural knowledge with strong commercial instincts.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop and execute an annual territory business plan focused on key markets, customers, and growth opportunities.
  • Build and manage long-term business relationships with key retail and distribution partners and develop plans with them to grow the business.
  • Build and manage long-term relationships with key growers to create demand for ProFarm's portfolio and increase market share.
  • Manage the sales process through the CRM system, maintaining visibility into opportunities, customer activity, and progress across assigned key grower accounts.
  • Establish product-specific goals with assigned growers and monitor progress against those goals.
  • Develop and implement grower demonstrations as a key strategy for increasing customer experience, product understanding, and adoption.
  • Work closely with Regional Account Managers to ensure grower customers receive strong service and support through the distribution channel.
  • Meet or exceed agreed-upon sales goals and contribute to broader commercial objectives.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Product Development, Field Development, R&D, and other internal teams to support customer needs and achieve revenue and account goals.
  • Participate in, present at, and/or represent ProFarm at key agricultural industry meetings, conferences, field days, and other events as needed.
  • Serve as a key point of leadership for product performance inquiries and customer questions within the assigned territory.
  • Identify market opportunities and provide insight into grower needs, competitive activity, market conditions, and product performance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Won’t Do:

  • Operate as a traditional desk-based sales role; this position is heavily focused on direct customer and field engagement.
  • Work independently from the broader commercial organization; success will require close collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Product Development, Field Development, R&D, and other ProFarm teams.
  • Limit your focus to transactional sales; the role is centered on developing long-term grower and retail relationships and creating sustained demand for ProFarm products.

Who You Are:

  • An agricultural or life-science professional with a bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Agriculture, Agronomy, or a related field.
  • An experienced sales professional with at least three years of experience selling crop protection products or other relevant agricultural products or services.
  • Experienced working directly with growers, retailers, distributors, PCAs, CCAs, and other agricultural market influencers.
  • Knowledgeable about row-crop agriculture and the agricultural marketplace in Iowa and/or the Western Corn Belt.
  • Familiar with biological products and biopesticides; direct biopesticide experience is preferred but not required.
  • A PCA or CCA, or willing and able to obtain the appropriate credential within one year of joining ProFarm.
  • A strong relationship builder who can develop trust and credibility with growers, retailers, distributors, PCAs, CCAs, and other industry partners.
  • Comfortable communicating, advising, negotiating, and influencing across a range of customers and stakeholders.
  • Organized and self-directed, with the ability to manage multiple accounts, projects, priorities, and travel demands.
  • A strong communicator who can translate technical and product information into clear conversations, presentations, emails, and other formats, with solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Comfortable spending significant time in agricultural production environments, including walking fields, evaluating crop conditions, and observing product performance in varying weather conditions.
  • Able to drive for extended periods and travel routinely throughout the territory by car and air.
  • Able to work occasional evenings and weekends for industry meetings, conferences, field days, and other events.
  • Able to lift approximately 40 pounds.
  • Able to sit and work at a computer for extended periods when needed.
  • Energetic, entrepreneurial, resourceful, and motivated by the opportunity to build something in a growing market.
  • A strong believer in the future of biologicals for pest management and plant health.

Success Looks Like:

  • The ProFarm business is growing within the assigned territory and agreed-upon sales goals are consistently achieved or exceeded.
  • ProFarm has strong, trusted relationships with key growers, retailers, distributors, PCAs, CCAs, and other market influencers throughout the territory.
  • Grower demonstrations and product-specific goals are effectively used to increase customer experience, adoption, and demand.
  • The annual territory business plan translates into measurable activity and growth across key focus markets.
  • Customers receive consistent, high-quality support through strong coordination between the TSM, Regional Account Managers, and distribution partners.
  • ProFarm's presence and market share continue to expand across Iowa and the Western Corn Belt.
  • The Territory Sales Manager is recognized internally and externally as a knowledgeable, credible, and trusted resource for agricultural customers and the performance of ProFarm's products.

Location

  • Midwest - this role requires significant travel throughout the assigned territory, with approximately 60-70% domestic travel by car and air.
  • The position requires regular field visits to agricultural production sites as well as attendance at customer meetings, industry events, conferences, and other commercial activities.
  • Overnight travel is required, including annual meetings/conferences of up to seven consecutive days and other meetings typically lasting one to five days. Weekend travel may occasionally be required.

Compensation

  • ProFarm offers a comprehensive benefits package including a 401(k) plan with employer match, and a health plan including medical and dental coverage, life insurance coverage, long term disability and a flexible spending account for dependent care and/or medical expenses.
  • The above is a list of the essential duties and responsibilities for this position. This list is not all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned. This job description may be modified as needed.
