Job summary

The Chefs' Warehouse, Inc. is a leading foodservice distributor serving premium restaurants with protein-focused products.

As a Protein Sales Associate you will represent our brand, deliver outstanding customer service, and build durable relationships with existing and new accounts. You will travel within the assigned territory to call on customers, prepare bids, explain terms, and help grow sales across all protein categories.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of related experience in restaurant, food sales, or professional catering.
• High energy and enthusiastic.
• Candidates must live in the assigned geographic sales area.
• Ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects and initiatives.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects.
• Self-starter. Must ask questions and learn new skills while on the job.
• Driven, team player who is motivated to take responsibility and ensure success.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines with short turnarounds in a fast-paced environment.
• College Degree desired but not required.
• Culinary/hospitality preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sell protein-based products across all categories to food service segments.
• Research prospective customers using sales leads and directories.
• Travel throughout assigned territory to call on customers and solicit orders.
• Demonstrate products using samples or point of sale materials.
• Prepare customer product bids and applications.
• Explain credit terms, delivery expectations and ordering processes.
• Work with inside sales to keep account activities up to date.
• Track inventory levels to mitigate shortages.
• Enter orders and price using company systems.
• Develop and maintain relationships with purchasing contacts.
• Investigate and resolve customer problems quickly.
• Mentor with peers for product and process knowledge.
• Close sales by building rapport and overcoming objections.
• Expand sales in existing accounts by introducing new products and services.
