Job description

About Halter

Halter is a virtual fencing technology company on a mission to enable farmers and graziers to run the most productive and sustainable operations. Our customers use Halter to eliminate time‑intensive constraints of conventional practices. Imagine 500 cattle walking calmly toward their next break without quad bikes, dogs, or fences. We’re changing lives and transforming an industry, and we’re looking for talent who want to solve challenging problems within a high‑performance culture.

What your day could look like
  • Prospecting New Business: You’ll drive up driveways, attend local cattle auctions, meet with livestock associations, and build a new business pipeline through outbound lead generation, while fielding inbound leads in a timely manner and prioritizing administrative tasks alongside your in‑field activities.
  • In‑Field Sales: You’ll work in the field—on horseback, in a side‑by‑side, or in the kitchen—discussing how Halter benefits ranchers, dropping off coffee during calving season, and capturing the magical moments that make a difference to our customers.
  • Expanding Existing Opportunities: You’ll seek opportunities to deepen relationships with current customers, identifying ways to increase value even when not all cattle are collar‑eligible.
  • Hitting Sales Targets: You’re comfortable with high‑growth targets, expertly manage your pipeline, and never second‑guess qualifying a lead.
  • Customer Account Management: After the sale, you maintain close relationships, ensure satisfaction, provide support, and address challenges, while ensuring a smooth handoff to onboarding and implementation teams.
  • Territory Ownership: You own a territory, visit every corner, and build lasting relationships with local, state, and federal stakeholders and agricultural groups.
  • Customer Onboarding: You own the end‑to‑end onboarding experience, ensuring a smooth transition from sales to implementation across teams.
  • Field Learnings & Feedback: You gather customer feedback, advocate for their needs, and help shape product and service improvements.
  • Collaborating with Support Teams: You act as a natural collaborator, resolving customer issues quickly and ensuring their region feels fully supported.
  • Attending Industry Events: You generate leads and deepen relationships at relevant industry and Halter events, and you participate in demonstrations and networking opportunities.
  • Contributing to the US Sales Strategy: You work with the broader team to optimize and evolve the sales process, driving greater efficiencies as we scale.
You’ll be great if you exhibit
  • Driven Attitude & Communication skills: Results‑driven, motivated, adaptable, and proactive, you excel in high‑stakes environments and communicate effectively with customers and internal teams.
  • Ranching / Cattle Experience: You understand the unique challenges of ranching or cattle operations, enabling you to connect meaningfully with customers.
  • Sales & Customer Success Expertise: You have a strong history of creating new business, negotiating value‑based sales conversations, building lasting relationships, and expanding accounts through upsell opportunities.
  • Territory Management experience: You’ve managed a large territory with a balanced focus on sales and customer success, ideally within agriculture or technology.
  • Problem Solving & Collaboration ability: You are resourceful, quick‑thinking, and work well with cross‑functional teams to address challenges and drive solutions.
  • Willingness to Travel: You are comfortable with frequent travel within your territory to engage with customers and prospects.
Bonus things you could bring along to the role
  • Familiarity with precision agriculture or virtual fencing technologies, or a background in customer‑facing roles within agriculture technology.
  • Background in selling SaaS solutions in a B2B environment.
Our Benefits
  • Annual self‑development budget of USD$750 for personal growth.
  • Best‑in‑class health insurance for employees and families.
  • 16 weeks of paid parental leave for primary caregivers and 8 weeks for secondary caregivers, plus additional parental benefits.
  • Wellness leave and unlimited paid annual leave.
  • 401(k) with a 100% match on the first 3% of contributions and a 50% match on the next 2%.
  • A competitive remuneration package comprising salary, benefits, and an employee stock ownership plan.
